- Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos) - The Corinth Canal is a man-made waterway that cuts through the narrow isthmus of Corinth, connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf. This canal effectively separates the Greek mainland from the Peloponnese, making it an island. Although the canal was completed in the late 19th century, the idea dates back 2000 years. Before its construction, ships in the Aegean Sea had to navigate around the Peloponnese to reach the Adriatic or dock in Corinth, adding an extra 185 nautical miles to their journey. It is believed that Periander, the tyrant of Corinth around 602 BC, first envisioned the canal. Due to the technical limitations of the time, he instead built the diolkos, a stone road that allowed ships to be transported on wheeled platforms.

- Archaeological Museum of Nemea - In Greek mythology, Heracles defeated the Nemean Lion of Lady Hera here. Located near the new town of Nemea, about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Corinth, the Nemea region is renowned for its red wine, considered the best in southern Greece and possibly all of Greece. The indigenous Agiorgitiko grape variety is cultivated here, producing wines known for their deep red color, complex aroma, and long, velvety finish.

- Archaeological Museum of Ancient Mycenae - Known as ‘Rich in Gold,’ the kingdom of the mythical Agamemnon, first celebrated by Homer, is the most significant and affluent palatial center of the Late Bronze Age in Greece. The Mycenaean civilization, named after this city, has inspired poets and writers for centuries. Perseus, son of Zeus and Danaë, is traditionally considered its mythical founder. According to Pausanias, Perseus named the city Mycenae either after the pommel (mykes) of his sword or the Perseia spring found under a mushroom (mykes). Perseus’s descendants ruled Mycenae for three generations until the last, Eurystheus, died without an heir. The Mycenaeans then chose Atreus, father of Agamemnon and Menelaus, as their king.

- Limani Nafpliou - Nafplio is one of the most beautiful towns in the Argolis region (eastern Peloponnese) and one of the most romantic cities in Greece. It served as the first capital of the newly established Greek state from 1823 to 1834. According to mythology, the town was founded by Nafplios, son of Poseidon and Anymone, daughter of Danaus. The town’s history dates back to prehistoric times, with soldiers from Nafplio participating in the Argonautic expedition and the Trojan War. The town declined during Roman times but flourished again during the Byzantine era. Frankish, Venetian, and Turkish conquerors left their mark on the town, influencing its culture, architecture, and traditions. Ancient walls, medieval castles, monuments, statues, Ottoman fountains, and Venetian or neoclassical buildings captivate visitors with their unique architecture and beauty.
