Unforgettable - The small group made the experience a lot more personal to each traveler. We felt a lot more immersed in the culture and history because we were in a group of only six people as opposed to a giant bus full of people. Additionally, the tour guide driving us in and out of Athens made the experience stress free. Also, he was a masterful story teller and connected the ancient history with his own personal upbringings. This tour helped us see more of Greece as a whole and not just the big city of Athens.

Excellent day trip from Athens - When your tour guide looks identical to Stanley Tucci, you know it's going to be a great trip! In my opinion, this tour is a brilliant way to see more of Greece without needing to book additional accommodation outside of Athens. The guide was very knowledgeable and made the journey to the sites just as integral to the overall experience (pointing out/explaining lots of different things as we passed them). It's important to note that the guide is also the driver, therefore you will be on your own when walking the site at Delphi (he needs a proper break!). You're given a booklet with lots of information and of course there's the usual information boards dotted around. This was plenty for me. An added bonus is that the guide grew up in the area and was therefore able to add some personal touches (proper local knowledge is a wonderful thing).

Worth It - Overall a very good expierence that is worth doing. Holy Monastery of Hosios Loukas was epic and one of the most peaceful places we've ever expierenced. I recommend.

Great experience - Our guide was amazing! Very knowledgeable of the Athenian Culture, and of the history that took place in Thermopylae! I would recommend the trip to anyone traveling to Greece!

Great experience - This tour was fantastic especially seeing where the famous 300 spartans battle happened. We had a nice small group. Our tour guide/driver was extremely friendly, very knowledgeable and kind. There's some difficult terrain on the way to the cave but he is very skilled and smooth driver. We also had lunch together which was nice. Long day but well worth the time. I highly recommend.

Magnificent views and landmarks - This trip is for you if you want to see amazing views and historically important places. Pan was awesome (driving and answering our various questions about history and other topics about Greece). I definitely recommend if you ever want to leave the hustle and bustle of Athens and see the quieter countryside of Greece.

Good trip in off-season, would consider whether there are better options to spend more time in Delphi - My original planned trip could not go ahead due to lack of other participants on my chosen date. The operator messaged to inform me of a couple of days beforehand. This was slightly disappointing, but understandable in low season. They were however able to put me on a similar trip later in the week. Comms on this were good, although if I'm picky the operator could have been proactive in offering alternative options before I asked. Either way, this was far batter than another trip the same week with another operator who didn't even bother to tell me they'd cancelled it until I went to the meeting point! The trip itself to Delphi is a long day whichever way you go, hence why I booked this smaller tour. We had a full minibus (9 including the driver) after pickup around Athens. That will never be 'comfy' but it's manageable. Our driver (I'm rubbish with names and it's now a week plus later) talked us through Greek history etc. on and off as we headed towards Delphi. Due to a land collapse a week earlier which may now take months to fix he'd had to adjust the tour along a different route. Instead of the Corycian Cave which is now inaccessible, we stopped at a key monastery on the way to Delphi. It's a reasonably long drive, but we stopped for a toilet or other break often enough and it was good to see the Greek countryside outside of Athens. We had about an hour and a half for the key event around the museum and archaeological site of Delphi, which felt a little rushed but was just enough time in off-season. In peak busy, I can imagine it would be somewhat tighter. The driver couldn't guide us through the archeologically site as he's not an official guide but did provide a paper guide. This was good, although difficult to be sure you're in the right place for each bit ahead of time. With hindsight I should have found an audio tour to follow as then you're eyes open rather than head in a booklet. This was followed by a stop for lunch at a local restaurant, with super views. Personally I'd have forgone the sit-down meal for a snack and more time on the archaeological site, but we had spend a lot of time on the bus, and the driver needed a decent break one way or another. Also a good opportunity for a proper chat between the guests. Then it was a reasonably long slog back with a brief stop at the monument for the Battle of Thermopylae. Great tour. Better to do Delphi in a small group like this than a big tourist coach, but is it worth the day-out for limited time at Delphi? I'm not sure. If you're stuck for time in Athens and want to tick it off quickly, then great. If you've more time, I'd consider staying overnight in Delphi, but then you're into DIYing the travel and missing out on the guided tour enroute.

Delphi great, Spartan disappointing - The trip to Delphi and the Temple of Apollo was incredible to see - such beauty in the middle of the mountains. It is a bit of a tough trek up the mountain for those who have mobility issues so be warned. The Spartan battlefield was a major disappointment and not worth going at all. It is just a large barren area now inhabited by RVs and refugees. There are two small monuments but it was not worth the hour drive to get there from Delphi. The biggest disappointment was that our guide informed us we could not see the cave due to a rockslide that happened a few days prior. I understand that tour operators cannot control circumstances like this but they could have let us know in advance so we could decide if we still wanted to go on the tour. This was not a cheap tour and to have this part eliminated was a major disappointment. They should have let us know before we left, not when we are already in the van and on our way. Our guide was very pleasant and took us to another site where we were able to walk through some ruins but it was not an adequate replacement for the caves. He could see we were disappointed and did what he could to make the trip as good as it could be. This is a very long day - if we had to do it again we would likely skip the Spartan portion and opt for just a trip to Delphi and back.

Make Sure You Get What You Want... - The trip to Delphi was great. Similar to other reviews, the roads to the caves were closed so we were taken to a monastery which, while it was nice, it didn't replace the caves. The Spartan battlefield was a major disappointment. It was just a field with some people in the hot springs. It wasn't worth going considering the time you spend in a car really, even with the small roadside monuments. The time out of the way and the time in the car make it a rough day for a a lackluster area. The biggest disappointment was we were notified late that we could not see the cave due to a rockslide. I understand that tour operators cannot control circumstances like this but they could have let us know in advance so we could decide if we still wanted to go on the tour. This is expensive, almost $400 for two people, so we would want to see what is to be included in the package, as well as get what is included. Unfortunately, the van we road in was not very comfortable. There was only four people total, but is was a very uncomfortable ride for a full day. Our guide was very pleasant and tried his best to make it a good day. I didn't realize until we got home that Lunch was supposed to be included, but we paid for our own lunch - should I be getting a refund for this??? If you could let us know please?
