Delpi, a beautiful scenic, Spiritual location. - Delphi, is an amazing place to visit. Expect lots of uphill walking, take water. The entrance ticket to Delphi was included in my Viatour experience. If bought onsite, the entrance ticket price is 6 Euros. (The same ticket was used as entrance to the museum, which was a 3 minute walk away from the Delphi main entrance) I booked the trip with lunch included. The lunch was a fixed menu in a local hotel. There was no option to choose what you ate. The food was not that great. For me, this was the only downside of the trip. There were other members of our group who were dropped of in the village to explore and chose where they had lunch. Looking back, personally I would have much preferred that option. That said, the hotel had an amazing view and was in a beautiful scenic location. The bus ride was comfortable. We were given a WiFi password that worked for the first hour, then disconnected and would not reconnect. There was one stop on the way to Delphi, to grab a drink, bathroom break etc, and also on the way back to Athens. (We were asked not to eat nor drink on the bus). Overall an okay organised experience. The visit to Delphi site was amazing. By what ever means you choose to get there, It is well worth the visit.

Educational and pleasant Delphi with Greek history lessons. - Our docent, Dimitria, possessed exceptional knowledge of ancient Greek history and language. Her tutorials at Delphi, and descriptions of ancient Greek life, were lucid and enjoyable. She presented explanations of various myths (Oedipus and Demeter) and lessons which ancient people would recognize. She is an excellent tour guide, and pleasant to engage. The off-season (31JAN2025) commute from Athens to Delphi required ~3H one way. No snow to complicate bus travel. One ding -- no WiFi on small commuter bus, but there are USB ports to charge your phone.

Fantastic day trip to Delphi - An excellent day trip from Athens to Delphi - our guide brought the history to life, told us legends, and informed us about things we saw on the way. Delphi is AMAZING - incredibly picturesque scenes, interesting classical remains (Greek and Roman), beautiful parkland to walk through, and the modern village where we stopped for lunch is delightful. We chose to find our own lunch in Delphi and there were plenty of choices, including restaurants with stunning views over the valley to the sea. The van was comfortable, which was good since it’s about 3 hours each way and we got picked up and dropped off at a hotel close to where we are staying. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and highly recommend this provider.

Interesting trip, don't book the lunch. - Delphi is well worth a visit and this was undoubtedly a hassle free way to do it. We were collected on time and kept to the timetable without feeling rushed which can happen on bus tours. The guide, Averkius, was knowledgeable and explained well if somewhat slowly, as if speaking to unintelligent people. We're world travellers on trips like this, give us some credit. He laughed at his own unfunny comments continuously. He also failed to thank our driver, Nikos (?) who drove us patiently all day with a terrible traffic jam at the end of the day. A farewell thank you was definitely in order. Lunch, this has to be the absolutely worst meal I've ever eaten in Greece, and this is my 6th visit! We asked for vegetarian and were given spaghetti with a tasteless sauce. I recommend that you don't take the lunch option and eat in the village. Was it worth it? Yes, the convenience factor overrides the disadvantages.
