Highlights
  • Corinth Canal - Embark in our air-conditioned modern bus from 4 central meeting points and travel for 1-hour to the area of Peloponnese. On the way to Mycenae, see the famous Corinth Canal and make a quick stop to admire this engineering marvel that connects the Aegean and Ionian seas.

From Athens center we need 60 min to reach the Corinth Canal

  • Archaeological Site Mycenae - Continue towards Mycenae, one of the most important cities of ancient Greece. Visit the Mycenaean Acropolis, the tomb of Agamemnon, and the ruins of the Cyclopean walls that protected this mighty city. You can also visit the Archaeological Museum of Mycenae.

entrance November to March 12 euros

  • The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus - Continue on to the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, a 4th-century theatre which is one of the best-preserved Classical Greek structures in existence. It is renowned for its amazing acoustics; a coin dropped in the theatre’s center can be heard from the highest seat. The theatre seats up to 14,000 people and its entrance is flanked by restored Corinthian pilasters. It’s now used for performances of Ancient Greek drama during the annual Hellenic Festival.

  • Nafplio - Last but no least , make a stop in the picturesque city of Nafplion, which was the first capital of Greece after Independence and has been a major port since the Bronze Age. Its position was so strategic that the city has 3 fortresses: the massive fortress of Palamidi, the smaller Akronafplia, and the water castle Bourtzi on an islet west of the old town. Stroll through the attractive narrow streets, and admire the elegant Venetian houses, neoclassical mansions, and quayside cafes.

Take the opportunity to go shopping, eat in a traditional restaurant, chill out at the cafes in the picturesque port, or when in summer take a swim in the crystal waters at Arvanitia beach.

Then we head back to Athens in a 2 hours drive throught the countryside

Enjoyable - Firstly, we would like to particularly acknowledge Thanos our tour leader for the trip to Peloponnese (Mycenae, Nafplio, Epicurus) It was great, full day of diverse experiences and amazing scenery. It brought a lot of Greek history to light. We would fully recommend this tour.

its worth doing this trip - Great trip. Easy pick up points in city. Had 4 stops with added stop at Corinth Canal at start. Guide gave info on coach and then left us with electronic tablets to take on explorsting dites on own. Plenty of time to look around the sites/sights and a nice break mid-way thriugh st Nafplion to explore the town or have lunch etc.

Strong Air-con bus and Nice food - We had a very good time there! The bus is very comfortable with effective air conditioning and Wi-Fi. The time limit for each spot is perfect and the seafood that our guide recommends is fresh and tasty.

Wonderful trip with guide Irene - Very lovely guide, Irene. The itinerary covers most of the must-see sites on the Peloponnese peninsula. We visited all the places and felt it was a great use of money!

Great ending to our Athens vacation! - This was a great ending to our Greece Trip. I decided at the last minute, the day before we went, to book this trip. The pickup spot I wanted was booked, so I had to call and get that switched with customer service but had no trouble doing so. The trip, the number of stops and content was great. The VR info was a bonus. The guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic even having to repeat herself in english and French the whole time and George drove the heck out of that bus in those mountains, Kudos to him. I Would definitely recommend this tour because it was so hot and we had walked so much, we welcomed the ride. The scenery was perfect and this was a great way to see more of Greece outside of Athens. The only problem we had was the bus was hot? It was a full house and the air conditioning was not pumping.. We sat in the very back and thankfully we had the whole row to ourselves so we could stretch out a little but the air conditioning was not flowing back there.

Nice trip, but maybe there are better options in Greece - Interesting visits, but V.R. is dissapointing, doesn´t work properly. The guide was attentive, but I had some taste that the trip was not the best choice among the many choices available in Greece.

Scary ride back! - I gave this experience 3 stars for a few reasons. Old bus, and driver are the main reasons. On our return I was fearful of us actually making it back to Athens in one piece. The tour was great but the accomodations on the bus were not so great. Check the fine print on who is running the tour. Open Top Bus hellas M.E.P.E is not a company I would recommend or use again.

Inaccurate Description of Time At Archeological Sights - We didn't like this tour because the timing at the archeological sights was not correct. At the first archeological sight they gave us 1 hour and 20 minutes, we were supposed to have 2 hours. At the second archeological sight they gave us 1 hour and 10 minutes. They gave us 2 hours for lunch, shopping and possibly swimming which was too long. The lunch break should have been shortened so we could have been given the time at the archeological sights as tour description indicated.
