One of the best walking tours I've ever been on - great guide, great food - We take a trip to a European city for around 12 friends each year, and typically arrange a heritage or foodie walking tour. This was a combination, and undoubtedly the best we've experienced across maybe 20 years. Mini was an excellent guide, and we stopped at seven different locations to sample substantial quantities of local specialities and opportunities to speak with the owners. Everything was top quality and provided a great insight into Greek cuisine. When you read the communication from Greeking.me it tells you not to have a large breakfast - make sure you follow their advice

A Taste of Athens: Highlights and History - We had a fabulous time with Eugenia as our foodie guide on this tour! I especially appreciated the stories she told about the food we tasted as we strolled through various Athens neighborhoods. My favorite tastings were the Greek coffee, koulouri, loukoumades, Greek pies, cheeses, and Greek yoghurt with honey. Unfortunately, moussaka was not on the tasting menu. Would love to have that included in future food tours. I also liked that we visited small, family-owned businesses and got to know their story about their shops as well. Supporting small businesses is very important to me. Eugenia was very attentive and made sure we comfortable at all times, especially at the Central Market. All in all, my husband and I truly enjoyed the food tour and the conversations we had with Eugenia about life and food. This is a must-do tour if you really want to experience the heart of Athens through its people, food and culture.

A Highlight in Athens - The foodie walking tour was so great - we thoroughly enjoyed it. Penelope was wonderful and shared interesting facts and stories with us. She was so kind to the kids, which made it a happy morning for all of us, we were even surprised at all the new things they tried. We loved walking to all the spots and meeting all the people and places where local Athenians shop. The highlight of our trip to Athens

Just as Great the Second Time - We had a terrific private food tour. Our guide was charming and interesting. We loved all the food and enjoyed the conversations we shared with our guide during the tour. The time flew by. There was a nice mix of walking and sitting while enjoying the food . We never felt rushed and loved the interaction of our guide with the owners at each of the stops. She had bits of personal information about each which we thoroughly enjoyed. Five years ago we had a great food tour in Athens with Greekingme. We think this one might be even better.

Get the know the City as well as the food-- - Our guide, Max, was entertaining, knowledgeable, and also very responsive to our preferences. If I could do it all over, the only think I would do differently is to make this the first tour of a visit to Athens-- it would have helped us throughout our visit. ALhtough the primary focus was food, we also felt on this tour that we really got a good "taste" about the city of Athens. While we enjoyed our private tours of the attractions, this walking tour helped to "connect the dots". I've always believed that a food tour is the best way to get to know a city and culture, and this should be an indispensible part of anyone's itenerary. Also, by FAR, our best dinner in Greece was at a place that Max recommended. I'd also point out that, when he heard we hand't yet seen the changing of the Guard, he altered teh end of the tour to lead us there, with instructions on getting back to our hotel.

Insider food tour — wonderful! - Eleni, our private guide, spoke perfect English and took us from a food cart for traditional koulouri or sesame, round, snack bread to lunch at Ipeiros in the fish agora where celebrity chefs have eaten. For good reason. The food was delicious. I highly recommend this tour with Eleni. She paced the tour well and was lovely to us and our sons, ages 15 and 11. It was worth every euro.

Amazing food, come hungry! - We booked a private food tour with greeking.me and had Penelope as our guide. She was absolutely outstanding. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable... not only about the food we were eating but also about the history of Greece and Athens itself. It was so nice to haven open dialogue to get a really in depth view of the city and its culture - Penelope made you feel like you were roaming the streets with a friend. While we knew were going to eat, make sure you come hungry! You definitely get your money's worth in food. We tried a variety of items: thessaloniki, spanakopita, REAL feta and Greek yogurt, olives and loukoumades. We also stopped by a local deli and sampled an amazing charcuterie board, as well as, eating at a small restaurant in the heart of the meat market to sample some traditional local dishes. At the end of our day, Penelope took us to a restaurant for some Greek coffee that has an amazing view of Acropolis. A perfect end to an amazing day! Keep in mind that this is a walking tour and while we did a good amount of walking, it was definitely nice to walk off some of the food between our stops. Would definitely do again and will recommend to others.
