- The Temple of Poseidon
The construction of the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion took place from 444–440 BC, under the leadership of the Athenian statesman Pericles, who was also responsible for the reconstruction of the Parthenon in Athens. The temple stands on the remnants of an older, Archaic period temple.
Near the Temple of Poseidon, lunch will be available.
