You’ll learn fascinating Atlanta history and get a close look at Southern cooking and Georgia’s most famous foods, including peaches, collards, and pecans. And, you will love learning how to make the perfect Southern biscuit in our Atlanta cooking class with seasonal decorations.

This experience is ideal for family members of all ages, incorporating minimal walking, satisfying dining options enough for a substantial mid-day meal, and interactive activities. Embark on this tour with everyone from children to elders in celebration of Christmas!
Moreover, with a duration of a meager two hours, you can comfortably fit this event into your itinerary before or after other Christmas gala or feasts. The marketplace is directly accessible via the Atlanta Streetcar route, strategically situated between the Centennial Olympic Park and the Martin Luther King Jr. Historical District.

You will meet your guide outdoors near the parking lot building
entrance, underneath the seating area and overhang. This is
just outside of Three Peaches Gelato. If it's cold or raining, you can meet your guide inside the market.

Market food tour and biscuit making class - Excellent tour. So much fun! Learned a lot about the origins of bread through the ages! Kristin, our guide was the best, very knowledgeable and personable and FUNNY. Biscuit making class was a blast. Biscuits tasted delicious. Meat pies from Panbury’s were so good, we are ordering some and having them shipped. Municipal Market was started by the Woman’s Club of Atlanta and is 100 years old . Great history. I highly recommend this tour/class and ask for Kristen. She’s delightful.

Delicious and great fun! - What fun! Jay was an amazing and hilarious! The food was incredible and not something i would have normally picked. We got to sample hidden gems and meet local business owners while getting a very informative and interesting history lesson. Come hungry, you get LOTS of food and learn how to make southern biscuits in a really cool cooking space within the market. A GREAT value for all the food, fun, and information you get. I can’t wait to sign up for another tour. Thanks, Jay!

New experiences rock! - We went with our adult children and had a great tour of an area we had not explored before. Joy was a wonderful guide and shared so much information about the market, the area and the food! We experienced new foods and made biscuits from scratch. Joy was very knowledgeable about the location, the people and the food we tried and made!

Great food and interesting history - Jay was an excellent guide. Full of knowledge and interesting facts. We loved the history of the market and the tracing back of the evolution of bread. The biscuit making at the end was a real treat. We highly recommend this tour.

Treated like family. Sweet Auburn Market Experience is a must! - Fabulous food and community. Above and beyond exceptional customer service. Jay was an exceptional guide and consented to just tour my husband and myself. His enthusiasm for the Sweet Auburn Market/Municipal Market community was a gift. Each vendor welcomed us like family. Jay shared their amazing immigrant stories, hard work, and successes. We also had so much fun making snowman/mouse biscuits in the time honored technique of the South. Highly recommend this experience, more than a tour. You leave more knowledgeable about the impact of bread on society and enjoy delicious traditional foods

Delicious food and Atlanta history at Municipal Market - Kristin was amazing!!! Had a blast eating delicious food and learning how to do biscuits! Learned about the history of the market and the area as well. If you like delicious food and history you’ll definitely love the tour.
