Exactly what's on offer. Beautiful place but a long way from Vienna - The guide made the trip very enjoyable, the tour is exactly what is described. However, I must say that even though Hallstatt is a beautiful place, it is too much time to move. I would only come back if I stayed in Salzburg, since Vienna is too far away.

Once at Hallstatt, head straight to SKYWALK! - Though surely no fault at all of the driver, it is a relatively tiring trip, especially on the way back to Vienna, but worth every minute especially once you get to Hallstatt. Don't miss out on the Skywalk, which isn't advertised as part of this trip and the local guide was not so keen to mention it from the beginning. Infact, once you get to Hallstatt, I would have just headed straight to Skywalk. The views from up there are just awesome!

Great trip - Great tour, many good photo spots, Hallstatt local tour guide who took the time to answer questions. Informative and pretty! Plenty of water, food, and bathroom breaks.

A MUST WHILE IN VIENNA!! - This was one of my most memorable tours. Of course Hallstatt speaks for itself, its beauty and charm. The other villages we stopped at on the way are lovely as well. Being able to enjoy some time and not have to navigate myself was a real treat. What made the trip so memorable was the camaraderie of the group. We hit it off right from the start! There were 2 hilarious strangers (to each other) who had the rest of us laughing so hard, it was something I'll always remember and made the trip extraordinary.
The breakfast stop was expensive, as other reviewers have mentioned. And the young man at the checkout was less than friendly. I would have appreciated knowing how to get out of the restaurant! The entrance and exit are in different places and you have to walk through the 'store' part to get out.
If there was one thing that put a damper on the journey, I feel the need to mention the driver and his ethnic comments along the way. Very poor taste. I recall other reviews saying the same thing. It's a shame this driver hasn't taken note and deleted those unnecessary and hurtful words from his commentary.
It looks like there are at least 2 drivers for this excursion. I got to experience both of them due to a glitch in picking the guests up from their hotel. The first one was great - friendly, chatty and funny. The one for the actual drive to Hallstatt was disappointing.
Still, this trip is well worth going on. Hallstatt is romantic, pretty and dreamy.

We had a really great... - We had a really great time on this tour! We got a message from the tour operator the day before to confirm exact pick up time. Driver was on time. The group was 8 people plus our driver Roman in a minivan. We made a couple stops along the way to Hallstatt. The only hiccup was in St Gilgen. My sister and I didn’t hear the instructions and my husband wasn’t paying attention. We were dropped off at one spot and picked up somewhere else. At the meeting time, we went back to drop off and no one was there. We ran around the town until we finally made it to the actual pick up. We were 10 minutes late. So pay attention!
Hallstatt was beautiful. We had a little walking tour with a local who pointed out things to do during our free time. My husband, sister and I went up to the skywalk, then had time for lunch and shopping.
On our way back, we took naps then chit chatted with other people in the group. It was a long day- over 12 hours. I liked doing the small group vs a bigger group. I would definitely recommend this tour.

A must do! - I had a great time in this trip. Thanks to our driver Zoltan and the fellow passengers for making this trip much more fun than I expected. We had a good breakfast on our way and made 2 stops before reaching Hallstatt. The place was beautiful! Had a wonderful experience.

Amazing Hallstatt - Hallstatt is every bit as amazing as we hoped from the pictures. While the driving is pretty long from Vienna, we were glad to have made the trip in the off season rather than going on our own. Hallstatt is really a tiny village and it was easy to see how it could be overwhelmed by busloads of tourists that bring in 10X their population in a day during the height of the season. Our tour guide in the town was terrific and gave us a great appreciation for the local history and nearby salt mines. Even though we had sloppy weather on our day, the village and location are still very picturesque and made the drive worth it. Our driver, Roman, was very good and made sure to take regular comfort breaks. Our stops on the way down gave us the chance to see a couple of cute villages we would have otherwise missed.
