Feels like your own private spa - Visited Alba for the first time expecting something special but were blown away with the attention to detail.
Guests are made to feel like this is their own private sanctuary - pools are not over crowded, the space serene and phones are unwelcome.
We started with some bathing in one of the many geothermal pools available before heading to the spa for a relaxing and luxurious massage. The spa centre was perfect, we were welcomed with water and herbal tea before the treatment, offered more water and tea post treatment and a complimentary glass of bubbles to top off a wonderful experience. Guests are invited to stay for as long as they wish, reclining in large daybeds overlooking native gardens.
Thyme resturant offers a varied menu to sate your appetite and the wine list includes many local vineyards giving you a great taste of both the local produce and wines on offer, before you head back to the pools.
We were there mid-week, so likely a quieter time at the springs which was perfect for us.

Chilling before the Afl Grand Final - As usual Alba Springs was a great experience. From the efficient and friendly staff at the check in, to the great range of pools right through to the exquisite food, the place never fails to impress.

Sensational salad - 5 stars – A Truly Nourishing Experience
I had a lovely, peaceful day at Alba Thermal Springs & Spa — everything about the experience was amazing. The serene atmosphere, beautifully designed spaces, and calming natural surroundings made it feel like a true escape.
A standout moment for me was the Buddha Bowl at the restaurant. The flavours were so fresh and vibrant, and I was absolutely delighted by the jelly noodles — such a unique and satisfying texture that really elevated the whole dish. It felt nourishing and thoughtful, just like the rest of the experience.
I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. I can’t wait to return.

Great afternoon - Loved my afternoon at alba last week. Bathing was delightful, followed by a blissful stone massage from Natalie. The charming Miki looked after us in the restaurant - the seasonal greens were a stand out

Restaurant very good, relaxation missing due to crowding. - Our lunch at Alba was very nice, I recommend the restaurant. The landscape around the pools was excellent. The pools looked clean and sat nicely in the gardens. However the facility was so crowded we could only enter 3 pools. In the end we gave up and left. I did ask at Reception if there were entry limits and was told the daily maximum is 400 people including staff. It felt like the maximum number was reached for our visit, between 10.30 and noon. Alba needs to consider the quality of the experience visitors have, not how many people can be squashed into the pools. Not a place of relaxation in my opinion.

Ok, but needs adjustment - Didn’t start well when l tried to book and noticed front end of website dates did not march days of week for August! Receptionist rude and uninterested in front end of website glitch,
Came at 5 pm surprised at large change rooms with minimal benches to get changed. Don’t think you will shower as only 5 and all had lines waiting. No policy or suggestion to shower prior🙃to entering pools. 1 map at start with limited info on pool temps.
No temp at each pool
Gardens are growing and will be beautiful and brutalist architecture compliments
People had phones everywhere for selfies!
Kids in pools
Not enough racks to hang dressing gown up at pool on quite night.
We had dinner which was lovely. Not sure l would return due to crowded pools on quite night and lack of info on pools

From Disappointment to Delight — A Thoughtful Resolution - I recently visited Alba for a spa treatment and while the experience itself — particularly the therapist and the beautiful hot springs — was truly lovely, I was left deeply disappointed by the spa's inflexible and, frankly, unreasonable rescheduling policy.
The day before my appointment, I fell quite ill with a bad cold and congestion, and I contacted Alba to reschedule. I explained that I had a medical certificate and was concerned about exposing staff and other guests to my illness. Despite this, I was told I would need to pay 50% of the treatment cost (which was $370 — $300 of which was a birthday gift voucher from close friends for my 40th). This policy applies within 48 hours, even in cases of illness, and there was no willingness to show compassion or flexibility.
When I expressed concern about potentially spreading germs, the receptionist told me it was my choice whether to come in or not — effectively forcing me to attend while unwell in order not to forfeit a significant amount of money. Sadly, I likely did pass on my illness to others, which could have easily been avoided with a more reasonable and health-conscious approach.
While I appreciated the treatment itself, the lack of empathy and rigid cancellation policy has left a very sour taste. I think others should be aware of this before booking — especially in today’s world where we should be encouraging people to stay home when sick, not punishing them for it.
Update - 21/6/25: After sharing my initial experience, the manager at Alba reached out with a sincere apology and generously offered my partner and me a complimentary visit and meal. We returned today, and I’m pleased to say we had a really lovely experience. The setting was just as beautiful as I remembered, and being well this time made a huge difference — I was able to truly enjoy the treatment and the hot springs.
While I still believe the rescheduling policy could be more flexible — especially in cases of illness — I genuinely appreciate the thoughtful response from management and their effort to make amends. It was a warm and restorative experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to return under better circumstances.

A disappointing experience… - Big disappointment. Over crowded, queues on arrival, queues to get into prebooked restaurant and queues for shower cubicles. Springs were small and we were squashed in like sardines. Lunch was delicious but restaurant under staffed with all sorts of problems. Delayed drinks, forgotten orders, long queues, poorly organised. In saying that, staff were apologetic and we were compensated.
Lovely to have a towel and robe in our locker on arrival. And the architectural element of the build can be appreciated.
