Spectacular experience - Chris was an amazing tour guide full of really interesting information. The tour was fantastic and we had a fabulous time. The bioluminescence was 11/10, so beautiful and the clear sky full of stars was a bonus! We will definitely be back.

Great way to see this natural phenomenon - We picked the Waiake Beach location. The area was really calm so the kayaking was very family friendly. Our tour guides, Chris and Legend, did a great job getting everyone prepared and out in the water. The bioluminescence wasn't super strong that night (nature's fault not SNM's) but we were definitely able to see a good bit of it and still had a great experience. Chris, who lead most of the tour, was super nice and taught us a lot about bioluminescence. Highly recommend booking this tour if you are visiting the Auckland area.

Chasing the glow - Saw the tour on the Visit Auckland instagram story as wasn’t aware it was something could do in Auckland. From booking the team were really helpful as I had lots of questions, mainly worried I’d be too old to be able to do the kayaking. I’d definitely say go for it, the whole thing was really enjoyable. The guides Legend and Ryan were great. We did see the elusive bioluminescence, taking photos or videos more challenging as it’s very camera shy. Wasn’t quite Life of Pi light show but like little fireworks of light when you splashed the water. Definitely recommend.

Bucket list for tourists in New Zealand. - Meeting at 10.00pm and kayaking in the warm waters in November 2024 with the nightscape lit with stars you don’t see in the city was incredible. We had 7 other kayakers all from different countries around the world from India, America Texas, Phillipines, Greece, Germany and us from Australia. We thought initially that the ocean would be filled with blue waves of living luminescence and that the ocean would be glowing everywhere. The magic here was that it was a search instead to find the hot spots of luminescence which made the tour a whole lot more exciting. Chatting to the tourists that had travelled to this beach for this experience finishing at midnight was so special. Our tour guide is a wonderful family man who is passionate about these odd marine creatures that put on a light show. A must for travellers to New Zealand. Don’t miss out on this.
