Hobbiton Movie Set - This small group tour is an easy day trip from Auckland to Hobbiton movie set. The day includes a fully guided tour of the set as seen in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy and we also include a sumptuous lunchtime feast in the Party Marquee.
Our experienced guides look after you all day from pick up to drop off at your Auckland City Accommodation. They include a full commentary on the way with insights into the areas you are travelling through and background to the movie set you are visiting
*The tour at Hobbiton is with a larger group for the tour on set. The tour is 2 hours followed by time in the Green Dragon Inn & then buffet lunch at the Party Marquee
- The Green Dragon Inn - At Hobbiton we will take you down to the set itself and have one of the specialist Hobbiton guides take you on a walking tour around the 44 Hobbit holes. You will get the chance to have a photo in the doorway of a Hobbit house, see the Party Tree and stand by the gate to Bilbo’s house ‘Bag End’ overlooking the whole set to the hills in the distance. Before your feast in the Party Marquee (which is included in the price) you cross the bridge by the mill to go into the Green Dragon Inn where you can enjoy a complimentary ale, cider or ginger beer.
You then return to Auckland (2 hours journey with a toilet stop)

Good fun in Hobbiton - What a great day. It was seamless throughout the day. Murray, our driver provided a lot of information about the whole of New Zealand duringnour drive to Hobbiton. Once were were closer, he began telling us how Hobbiton came about. We had a stop part way there for a coffee and bathroom break which was needed as I didn't have time for breakfast before the pick up time. Once we got to the starting point, we waited for our bus at our departure time to start our tour. We had Mary Lou as the guide at Hobbiton. I loved how the set has been preserved and a lot of the "props" were real like the vegetable garden to the stand full of honey. The best part was being able to go into one of the houses!!!! Then it followed with a drink at the Green Dragon Inn, there were 4 choices one being ginger beer for the no -drinkers. Carrying our drink, we went to our buffet lunch which wss included with this tour and it was delicious. It was a good day and tour. Thank you Bush and Beach for looking after us.

Exceeded already high expectations - This trip was fantastic from start to finish. Tony was our driver who picked us up directly outside our hotel, he was friendly, attentive and passionate. He told us stories/facts about the filming for Lord of the Rings and New Zealand during our trip to Hobbiton. He even took the more scenic route for the arrival at Hobbiton. He stopped half way for coffee break if we fancied.
Hobbiton was obviously incredible. Emma was our tour guide here and she was super. Learnt loads of fun facts about the filming/set. 1 free drink in the green dragon - stout, ale, cider or non-alcohol ginger beer.
Tour includes lunch in the party marquee - I didn’t expect much from a buffet but I was wrong! It was so good! Fresh quality food, lots of options (no dietary requirements so can’t comment on others), even lots of desserts.
We were given a map of hobbiton (which tony kept safe so we didn’t crumple it!), a $10 gift voucher each to spend in the shop.
On the way home, Tony took a small detour to show us places of interest for us in particular and stopped half way for a coffee break if needed. Tony dropped us back at our hotel but was happy to drop us back wherever in the city if requested.
100000% recommend. Worth every penny.

A great way to learn about Auckland! - We did several tours with Bush and Beach - Auckland City Tour, Rainforest/Piha Beach Tour - and Hobbiton tour with lunch.. all excellent - interesting tour guides and drivers Kelly, Kevin, Jase and Damien - and also driver Alex - were our guides - all enthusiastic, informative, professional and dependable. This is our favorite way to experience a new city - with professional local guides who take you to places, and point out things you otherwise would never be aware of.. all vehicles clean and comfortable - all hotel pick ups and drop offs on schedule.. good job team B&B!

Best day ever! - This was the most magical day! Our driver Wayne (the BEST!) picked me and my partner in Auckland, and I have to say, having such a great person with us all day made a difference! As for the tour: For the Lord of the Rings fans, this is pure heaven. Make sure to include the lunch option at the Green Dragon Inn, it's so worth the money. I wish we could spend the entire day there, there is so much to see and explore. Best day ever!

Exceptional tour! - Hobbiton is out of this world! Loved every bit of the tour! Damien was en exceptional guide! He gave us a great history of the island on our drive to and from Hobbiton! Would highly recommend this tour from Bush and Beach!

Fantastic tour guides! - Bush and Beach was fantastic! We did this tour and the next day an afternoon beach and rainforest tour. Very professional, on time, and knowledgeable.
I’d highly recommend them. Our guide for Hobbiton was Damien and he was great!

One of the best days of my life - Took me far too long to write this review. I can’t recommend this tour enough. Damien was our tour guide. My wife and I loved him. Damien if you get this message we hope you are well my friend. Enjoyed the day driving and exploring Hobbiton with you. The food was amazing as well. Hobbiton is so beautiful, when I saw it I started to get emotional. Please do this tour!
