- Warkworth - A very nice country town, picturesque by the river. We drive through.
- Matakana Village - Has a Saturday farmers market that is very good and well-known throughout the region. Stop on Saturdays.
- Pakiri - Leaving Matakana, an excellent coastal drive to Mathesons Bay, perhaps the best beach in Auckland. Then on to Leigh for its views and to the top of Pakiri Hill. Here, panoramic 360-degree views of this magnificent region.
- Morris & James Pottery - World-renowned pottery near Matakana. Needs to be seen. Really good stuff.
- Sandspit - Beautiful harbour and a reliable stop for coffee and a quick bite. Then to Brick Bay Hill for excellent views of the wider Hauraki Gulf.
- Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron - Drive back to the city from the north to the Yacht Club. Home of the America’s Cup. There is a restaurant there for afternoon tea or meals. Then to drop off.

There are some must-visit places in New Zealand. Start with a trip across the Harbour Bridge to Takapuna, known for its beach and vibrant restaurant scene. Next, head to Orewa for more stunning golden-sand beaches. Continue to Puhoi, famous for its historic hotel and impressive early-settlers church.
