- MJ Savage Memorial Park - Located in Mission Bay, this park features a beautiful garden and panoramic views from east to west. It also houses a memorial to Michael Joseph Savage, New Zealand’s first Labour prime minister (1935-1940), overlooking the Waitemata Harbour.
- Holy Trinity Cathedral - Holy Trinity Cathedral is the world’s only example of Pacific-Gothic architecture. It exudes a sense of grandeur and beauty. Nearby, you can also visit St. Mary Church, constructed almost entirely from heart Kauri, a native New Zealand timber, and one of the few Gothic-style timber churches in the world.
On the afternoon tour, we will visit the Winter Garden instead of Holy Trinity Cathedral due to its closing time.

The tour covered key... - The tour covered key locations in the Auckland area. Our guide was knowledgeable and provided many interesting points throughout the tour. We were very pleased with the experience and would certainly recommend it to others.

Excellent day - We had a wonderful half day tour with Israel. He was very informative yet easygoing. We learned a lot and are very happy with the itinerary and options.

(Disappearing) Guns and (Colourful) Roses. - This is a very informative tour and very relaxed at the same time. NO RUSH. Our driver / guide was Gagan. At NORTH-HEAD Gagan showed us the 'Disappearing Gun' and the other cannons and their barrels shut with logs of wood. He also took us inside the tunnels .
The tour operator has special permission from the Auckland City Council to take tourists to the very top of Mount Eden. So we were spared of the climb. He dropped us off right next to the crater and explained about the volcanoes of Auckland. He also gave a very informative and detailed explanation about TAPU the Sacred Spaces of the MAORI and their fight for their cultural identity.
This tour covers some of the tourist spots that are not marked on the Hop-on-Hop-off bus. Like the beautiful ROSE GARDEN.
I was looking for some tour that would be open on Dec 25th -and simple chanced upon this one. Very Glad that I did. For those intrested in seeing an learning a little extra about Auckland, this is a really good tour.

Great personal tour. Great driver/guide - THIS IS THE WAY TO GO. We took a private tour with Israel when we disembarked from our cruise at Auckland. I am usually nervous about finding the driver when disembarking but Israel was on the ball. He sent a picture of himself, a picture of where he would be, and described his car PLUS license plate (!) and kept me up to date on when he would be there (we used WhatsApp to chat). We walked out of customs and he was right there. We had emailed before about possible places to see but he surprised us with a couple of extra places that were just beautiful. And we learned more about the city too. Israel has a slight Asian accent -- but he's been in Auckland for over 20 years so he is easy to understand. He took photos of us (which was really nice, I'm not good at group shots) and sent them to us. Easy to talk to, very responsive, and a safe driver.

Interesting tour of outer Auckland highlights - Israel took us on a very interesting tour of places we would not have managed on our own. The itinerary order was varied probably due to traffic, and duration at each stop depended on tour members wishes. Booked the tour through a third party website which did not allow pickup from our hotel, Israel readily rectified this, also dropping us off in downtown Auckland instead of pickup point.

Decent activity, but better to combine trips - While the tour itself was a nice experience, I think the better move would have been to combine this with another activity (like the glow worm caves) to minimize road time. Our return was in the heart of traffic. Fantastic guide in Murray. Hobbiton itself was okay. Good meal/food for someone who needs vegetarian options.
