This tour combines three remarkable experiences in New Zealand’s Waikato region: Zealong Tea Estate, Waitomo Glowworm Caves, and Otorohanga Kiwi Sanctuary.
We commence the journey by picking you up from your hotel in central Auckland. The first destination is the Zealong Estate, the only place in New Zealand where commercial organic tea is sold. Here, you’ll learn about the tea’s history, its creation process, and even get to taste it. Enjoy a walk on the trail, appreciating unique sculptures and beautiful scenes.
Moving on, we visit the Waitomo caves. Your guide will lead a 50 minute group tour, recounting fascinating stories about the glowworms residing there. Experience a captivating boat ride within the caves, followed by a lunch at a famous open-air restaurant.
The tour concludes at New Zealand’s largest free-flight dome aviary, the Otorohanga Kiwi House. Get up close with New Zealand’s native birds and reptiles before we drive back to Auckland for drop-off.
