Great day at the museum - We had a fantastic time at the museum. It is so big with 3 levels and so much to see. A coffee break half way through, excellent.

Auckland Domain, Museum and Winter Garden - Interesting exhibits and information that will give you a good understanding of the history of NZ and its people. It will take you a whole day if you spend time at each exhibit.
The Museum is part of the Auckland Domain and you will want to visit the Winter Garden a couple of hundred metres away

Excellent - I visited the Auckland War Museum on my own, arrived there with the Explorer Bus and bought the ticket at the ticket office on arrival, visited all 3 floors of the museum. It is very interesting to know the past of conflicts, victories and the victorious quest for peace. It was worth the time I spent inside the museum.

Agree with others that this is worth a visit! - Definitely worth a visit! You could do an hour version or spend the whole day here, especially if you’re into the various war exhibits on the top floor. We spent an hour walking around the Domain which is just outside (including the plant houses and watching some cricket played in the park). Our 4 and 6 year olds especially liked the volcano exhibits and the 3D movie.
Auckland residents visit free, New Zealand citizens are free also with a suggested donation, and it’s affordable for international visitors (if you purchase the skip-the-line tickets on TripAdvisor like we did they just look at your booking email and print your tickets for you!).

Awesome museum visit - Awesome museum with so much to see and do. Helpful staff, we loved the lego exhibition and the cafe was great too. Could have come back several times as there was so much to see.

Museo di Auckland - Beautiful museum not to be missed, with Maori culture but also Polynesian in general, then a beautiful geological part with explanations on tsunamis and earthquakes

In depth analysis of the New Zealand culture - Te Ra! To see this magnificent creation and to hear its story was a revelation. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The British museum should return this important treasure to its original owners.

Good museum - Good museum... when we tried to exchange our receipt for museum tickets, they had no record of our purchase... otherwise, a good visit

Nice surprise. - This museum has the most important collection of Maori objects in the country. For that reason alone, it deserves to be visited.
However, the entrance ticket does not include the Maori show. You'll have to pay extra.
