Bombay Hills - The Bombay Hills are a range of hills located south of Auckland, New Zealand. Although they are a small and seemingly insignificant range, they mark the southern boundary of the Auckland region and serve as a divide between Auckland and the Waikato region. Named directly after the ship Bombay, which was itself named after the Indian city of Bombay (now Mumbai). Bombay also refers to a breed of black short-haired medium-sized cat.

Self-guided walks take between 45 and 90 minutes, offering a chance to witness volcanic wonders and capture amazing photos of unique features, including the world-famous Champagne Pool, naturally colored hot and cold springs, Devil’s Bath, bubbling mud, steaming ground, expansive vistas, huge volcanic craters, and sinter terrace formations.

Te Pa Tu - Enter Te Pā Tū Village and be transported to a world rich in Māori tradition and culture. Begin your evening with a warm welcome from spirited hosts as you journey into an ancient tawa forest, where warriors perform the powhiri, an ancient ceremony of safe passage. Experience the heart of Māori life as you explore the village, witness the earth being lifted from a hangi pit to reveal a feast prepared on hot stones, and enter the ancestral meeting house for mesmerizing song, dance, and the spine-tingling haka. Amid towering trees and blazing bonfires, celebrate Māori heritage with a four-course Māori-fusion feast crafted by award-winning chefs.
