Highlights
  • Unnamed Road - After a hotel pick up, we will take a 25-minute drive to a private lake where our Northern lights adventure will take place. Once we give you some tips, go through safety instructions, and dress you up in our suits, you can take a dip in the icy lake and enjoy the sky above you. Swimming takes place in an icy hole, and we guarantee that you won’t be cold! In fact, you will feel amazing. The suits will keep you warm so you can relax and enjoy the starry skies above you.

Northern lights are a natural phenomenon, and we cannot guarantee that you will get to see them. Why? Because, nature is unpredictable and as much as we wish to look at the lights every night, sometimes we won’t be that lucky. However, we organize this tour from autumn to spring when the chances of seeing Northern lights are the highest!

To give you the best Lappish experience we’ll serve warm drinks by an open fire, share some snacks and have our cozy wooden cottage available for those who want to snuggle up before we head back. The adventure usually last for 3-4 hours. That’s plenty of time to enjoy swimming in the icy waters!

Great night activity - Alex was a great guide for the night. We had a much better time than expected. The water isn't as cold as you'd think when the suit is on.

A must when in Rovaniemi - This was definitely a highlight of our trip. You think you will be freezing, but you arent. It’s so fun to float around in the ice water. Would be incredible if you got to see the Northern Lights. The suit keeps you warm, but I would recommend extra layers in hands and feet. Will make it even better.

An unbelievably great experience - We can only recommend ice floating, it was such a unique experience. We were picked up in Rovaniemi by Alex and then driven to a private lake. There we got the suits in a cute little hut. My husband and I are both very tall (he is 1.93m) and the suits fit us very well. In the suits you don't have any shoes, jacket, hat or gloves on. They kept us warm very well and it was super fun to float in the water and break ice. Alex was first in the water with us, gave us tips and made sure everyone was okay. Later he took lots of pictures of us. After floating, we were able to warm up in the hut by the fire with tea and cookies while Alex gave us a few insights into what it's like in Finland in the summer. It was a completely successful experience, thank you very much!

Floating in the arctic, gingerbread cookies & warming tea - What an amazing night! Had so much fun, we didn’t know what to expect but had the best time. Pedro was an excellent host and very funny and friendly! We were very lucky to have such an amazing bunch of people on our tour. We didn’t see the Northern lights but saw a very faint green glow which we were adamant was the lights, much to Pedro's amusement!! The warming blueberry juice and gingerbread cookies were a big hit! Thank you for such an incredible evening guys

Fantastic night with a great guide! - Oh we had so much fun!! This was the activity that prompted us to move Finland up the travel list and it did not disappoint (we saw Eugene levy do this on reluctant traveler). Pedro was our guide and he was just wonderful. Very fun guy to lead what is arguably a goofy activity. We wore several layers and then bundled up into the suit. It got a little chilly towards the end but otherwise we stayed nice and dry. We did not see the Aurora which would have been nice of course but still a fantastic time. Highly recommend!

Cool experience … literally 🥶 - After reading rave reviews about peoples experiences we were super keen to give the float a try and whilst our experience was slightly different to those I had researched it was still an enjoyable and unique one. Our guide Noah was nice and helpful but we did not have the warm fuzzy homely experience following the float listed in other peoples reviews. Perhaps our group was too large? We were separated into 2 groups: French speaking (10 ppl) and not-French speaking (8 ppl after 2 people pulled out before we got on the mini bus). This was a good decision as many people bunched up around each other and it looked more like dodgem cars than a quiet and private floating experience. I was in the second group, and we only had to wait 20-30mins before we could kit up and walk down to the lake - it would seem not many people last very long in the icy water. Most of our group were out of the water within the first 10mins, the suits do indeed keep you dry (provided you don’t flail around in them) but it didn’t prevent the coolness from hitting you everywhere the water touched your suit. I engaged some serious yogic deep breathing and was able to put it out of my mind to enjoy a blissful float for 30mins - 20 of which I had the lake to myself. The night we did our float was cloudy with not a star to be seen and no northern lights - this experience would have been out of this world if there had been something other than blackness / grey clouds to look at - but that’s nature for you!
