Highlights
- Rovaniemi - Unlike other similar tours, this is a small group activity with a maximum number of visitors of 12 people. So, you can hunt northern lights in a cosy nordic atmosphere. You will be driven away from the city lights to the dark location where the Northern lights are often visible. The guide will choose the location based on current weather conditions to maximize the chance of viewing the Aurora Borealis. In case if the sky gets cloudy, the group could move to a different spot to find a gap in the clouds to spot northern lights.
There will be a campfire that could help to warm up as well as a Lappish barbecue with snacks and hot drinks. During this trip, you can learn interesting facts and ancient stories about Auroras. Also, the guide will teach you the essential basics of northern lights photography and take photos for you. After the tour, you will receive photos by email.

This excursion will lead you on a professionally guided pursuit of the northern lights. A skilled guide will transport you to the best darkened location, based on current weather conditions, offering maximum opportunity to witness the Aurora Borealis.
Upon reaching the viewing site, a cosy campfire will welcome you, around which you will enjoy a barbecue featuring snacks and warm beverages.
The package also includes photographs. A pro-grade camera, fine-tuned for celestial photography will be available. If you wish to capture these moments on your own camera, expert tips on aurora photography will be provided.

Fun experience! - Alex communicated throughout the week about the clouds and probability of viewing auroras. He canceled our booking when it was too cloudy. On the night of the tour, he explained the science and historical views of the auroras while we warmed by the fire. He was willing to try multiple locations and sent us photos from the night. It was a great experience! (Pro tip - wear base layers to stay warm and being hand warmers)

Wonderful experience - It was a wonderful experience. Alex gave us a lot of information on the northern lights and also told us some myths and legends. We waited the lights coming around a fire and Alex provided us food and hot beverages. We also tried some others northern lights hunting tours in Rovaniemi and the experience with Alex was the best. He also took and sent us some professional photos that are incredible memories.

Great guy - highly... - Great guy - highly knowledgeable. We were caught in an unfortunate situation where a bus was stuck in the snow and derailed our plans a bit. If we didn’t have someone like Alex as a guide, it would have been significantly more unpleasant. He knows his stuff! Recommend :)

Great experience, recommended! - Alex was a great guide, he arrived on time and was very easy to contact prior to our tour. Unfortunately the lights weren't very visible on our night but this didn't ruin the experience and Alex really tried to drive around to find better positions in the sky. The photos were sent very quickly following the tour and they are a really nice quality. We enjoyed the stories of the aurora and the only one thing that was a shame was that the fire area was already being used by another tour group, which meant we couldn't all get space around it. But I believe this area wasn't exclusively ours so it couldn't be helped. But it's the only thing that would have made it better. Either way we would recommend this tour and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great tour with the aurora by Alex - The experience was wonderful. Alex went above and beyond, he picked us up at our hotel and front the start was very informative. He explain we may need to go to different locations to find the auroras, lucky for us we got to see them in our first stop. Alex brought for us hot dogs marshmallows and drinks and made us a fire to keep our self warm. I notice that other tours did not have this type of treatment. Lastly Alex brought his professional camera and took pictures of us with the auroras, as many as we wanted. We really enjoy and felt safe in our tour alex. Alex is a must go to go guy, highly recommended.

Alex and Aurora - Alex picked us up from our accomodations on time and we quickly made our way out first stop. We waited to see if Aurora would show up and in the meantime, Alex made a fire for us to stay warm around. He continually checked outside to see if Aurora was out. He grilled our group sausages and made warm drinks for us. He told us legends about the Aurora from all different cultures and let us roast marshmallows over the fire. He moved us to a second location after a couple hours and was determined to give us the best chance of seeing the lights. Aurora finally showed up and Alex took pictures of our group mates and my family. He was so patient and kind to all of us. After pictures he drove all of us back to the city. We would HIGHLY recommend him. Thank you Alex!!

Amazing - This tour was absolutely fantastic. Alex advised us that the weather wasn’t great and offered to rearrange. However the kids were really excited to try and find the northern lights and we had a packed schedule. Alex took us to a couple of locations to try and find them but we were unsuccessful due to the weather. This didn’t matter. The BBQ, snow and location were amazing. Alex told great stories and my children are still talking about him now a week after the trip when we ask for highlights. An amazing tour despite the weather, was still a great experience and well worth the money! Would absolutely book again when we go back.

A memorable experience - Driving away from the city lights and visualizing the Aurora while seated over a frozen lake with a warm fire, sausage rolls, hot berry juice and roasted marshmallows! Not much more one can ask for.
Alex drove us about 40kms from the city and gave us a good insight into the science and the myth behind the Northern Lights.
The entire experience was worth it!

Alex did his best, but it was not enough - The weather forecasts didn't look promising and to be fair to tour guide Alex, he informed of it beforehand and gave the option of a refund. I still decided to take a chance. On that night, Alex drove us to a few spots, some about 40 km from Rovaniemi in search of clear skies, but we didn't find any. All I can say is that Alex didn't make false promises and did his best. It was just not our day. I heard, there are other more expensive tours where they may take you into Sweden and Norway on 10-12 hr drives in search of the lights. If you are really desperate, maybe you can go on those.
