Beautiful photos with Northern lights - The best Northern lights tour from Rovaniemi. Guide Miguel took us to a great spot where we saw the northern lights. He also made us professional photos, thanks so much!

THANKS FOR THE ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE - Amazing group of people! We had all our tours last minute cancelled by another company and Miguel helped us re book last minute with Wonder Lapland- we also got engaged under the northern lights which was fantastic! Their prices are much fairer than other companies and they are more intimate versus a bus filled with 50 people where you are just a number. A lot of the bad reviews are less about Wonder Lapland, Miguel, and his team and more to do with people coming to the Arctic Circle not prepared to be in -30 and thinking nature obeys our command.

Memorable experience in a calm environment ! - An overall memorable experience. At first the weather was not very great, but Miguel managed to find a nice spot where the sky got clearer as we waited. The Northern Lights were shy at first, but after less than an hour they all appeared at once, in the sky canva. The stars are also unbelievably clear to see ! Highly recommend this tour, as Miguel is both profesisonal and friendly. :)

Aurora haunt in cloudy weather - Miguel & Pauline are really friendly & honest. Even though on the first day weather was bad, they gave us the option to cancel which we didnt, and decided to try our luck the next day. Despite the bad weather again, Pauline tried her best & took us to different spots away from the city. At least we managed to catch some aurora with our camera towards the end despite the heavy clouds. Thankyou for their efforts.

Very poor value for money - Anna, our guide, was very kind and sweet although the tour was really very poor value for money. Basically the only thing included was the pick up and transfer with a van to a 30minutes away location from Rovaniemi. The idea is that you stay in a van (not particularly warm - it was -35 outside) and wait for the guide to check if anything appears and come back to get you. The guide being very young and from a Mediterranean country and having been in Lapland for a year, did and could not share any local information as per the activity description on the website. We should have been recommended to hire the thermal outfits and for 132 Euro a thermos of hot tea could and should have been included. The guide, as much as enthusiastic for Northern Lights and very sweet, did not explain much, she used apps anyone can download and understand and eve the groups pics fairly poor quality. Far far to expensive for what it offered.

Horrible experience. - Absolute rip off. We booked this with such high hopes, and could not have been more disappointed. The evening was perfect, conditions were great and the aurora was BEAUTIFUL! Unfortunately, the guides had no idea how to operate a camera, so the promise of 'professional' photos is a complete lie. Once we arrived at the viewing destination, one guide gave the other a crash course in how to take the photos as they had never operated a camera before. At the end of the the night we were assured by the photographer that we would receive our images the next day via text. After 48 hours we contacted Wonderlapland who told us that the waiting period would be significantly longer. After two weeks and multiple phone calls we received the images 'as a special favour'. They noted that other tour attendees had not yet received their images, and were were lucky to get them so early. The photos were a waste of time. Shockingly bad. Photos we took ourselves were significantly higher quality. After querying why the images were so blurry and requesting the high-resolution versions, Wonderlapland stated that it was impossible to take clear photos when the people in the photos were moving. I noted that the images that had no people in them were also blurry, at which time they said they would 'look into it' and 'get back to me'. Trying to exercise patience, I have waited a month to follow up, in which case I was told that images are deleted after 2 weeks so we could no longer see them (please refer to my abovementioned timeline to share in my outrage). They also don't issue refunds after 10 days (although they neglected to respond to any correspondence within this time period), so we are left with nothing. I can't describe how disappointed we are with the overall experience, how poorly the images turned out and the treatment since. The only consolation is that the aurora was spectacular that evening, but Wonderlapland cannot take responsibility for that! Don't waste your time. If you're in a group it would be cheaper to hire a car for the night and go out yourselves.

TO BE AVOIDED WITHOUT HESITATION !!!! - The reception was extremely poor, and the agency managers were rude and terribly disorganised. He had forgotten to put petrol in the car, and we were stopped by the police because our guide Miguel was driving too fast. As a result, we were unable to complete our tour and were never reimbursed. TO BE AVOIDED WITHOUT ANY HESITATION

Tour from hell led by unprofessional students - Tour from hell! Unprofessional outfit led by a couple of students who trapped us in an old van for 6 hours with no toilet nearby while we waited in one single spot for the Aurora that never arrived. They didn’t move to a different location, there was no briefing, no communication because they barely speak English, no offer of thermal clothing (it was -22C), no hot drinks and the tour ended an hour later than planned. A horror story from beginning to end. We have been on many many tours in our lives in numerous countries and this was by far the worst. Don’t ruin your holiday by taking this trashy tour.

Amazing Tour. No communication from operators though. - We had a fantastic experience on the tour, and loved the remoteness and small group atmosphere. The photographer was so friendly and helpful. The drivers had a bit of trouble with the car, and the sunroom kept popping off but it was a fun experience and gave us a good story to tell. Sadly, that has been ruined as the company will not reply to any of our messages we have sent enquiring about our pictures. We have tried ringing, texting, emailing, using the website enquiry form and even Instagram DMing but it all goes unanswered. On the night, the drivers told us we would get the pictures that night. We thought that was a bit odd as it was 1am when we were dropped off so we waited to contact the company until the next day but it has now been three days with no contact. If this is rectified our review would be much higher as we loved the tour itself.
