Fun but Factual overview of Austin history - I enjoy walking tours and usually take at least one every trip. Some tour companies tend to play fast and loose with historical details in order to tell a more sensational story while presenting their version as factual. I appreciated my guide’s presentation of what her research led her to conclude as well as “popular” alternative versions. I am a native Texan, lived in Austin 25 years and still visit frequently so was familiar with most of the information presented but thought it would be interesting to hear it from a different perspective. The other 6 people in my tour were from out of state and seemed to equally be enjoying the Texas history primer. If I’m staying downtown again I will definitely join another of her tours.
