Highlights
- Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail - You will take an amazing tour of downtown Austin and see a variety of buildings, architecture, artwork, and wildlife. A few buildings of note include the Austin City Hall, Austin Public Library, the current and future Google buildings, and a multitude of hotels.
Our guides are each a bit different from one another in what they display on their tours. However, they each have a wide range of knowledge on the buildings, history of the lake, ecology of the surrounding area, and several pieces of artwork you can see from the water.

- Bring sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, waterproof camera, bottle water, bug repellent, towel, and extra change of clothes
- Operates in most weather conditions, please dress appropriately
- Recommend you wear swimsuit, windbreaker jacket, or lightly layered synthetic clothing

East Avenue
We will meet under an overpass/I-35 and launch from there. There is plenty of parking in the area! If you have any trouble with the location please put 7 East Ave in to get as close as possible. When you come to the water we'll be on the left hand side of the shoreline.

Fun way to learn about Austin's rich history while burning some calories. - Aidan was an excellent guide. Very welcoming, shared plenty of interesting facts about the lake and Austin in general. Communication was stellar.

Lives up to its promises! - The tour guide arrived on time with the kayaks. My husband of 85 years of age had disappeared. So I was sort of worrying about where he might be in the hundred degree heat. He didn’t have his phone on him so I couldn’t call or text him. I wasn’t sure if we should leave without him. so that was on my mind for a while.
We kayaked to a couple of bridges. The guide told us about the city. Which was really pretty unnecessary since I’ve been coming to Austin for 70+ years. And my grandsons live in Austin and know everything he said. But it’s a tour for tourists from all places. I would say the tour was perfect, but I would’ve preferred just to Rent kayaks somewhere for 2 hours and not tour. The guide was perfect in every way.

Kayaking on Ladybird River - This activity was loads of great fun. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and humorous. A great way to view the Austin skyline.

Beautiful kayak tour - Mac was a great guide. He made the trip fun and interesting with may facts about the wildlife and city skyline.
It was the best way to spend a spring morning and I highly recommend Lone Star and Mac!

Wonderful tour, I’d recommend it - Reid was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the city, Lady Bird Lake, the bat bridge, etc. My husband and I had a wonderful time and highly suggest doing a kayak tour with him. The lake was very smooth the day we went which was nice. We got to see a lot of ducks, birds and turtles.
