Above and Beyond Expectations - We did the giant paddleboard as a family of four (two teens) and we all LOVED it! We had the best view of the bats and great education throughout the tour. We did a tour boat once when the kids were younger and this was by far more up close and more exciting. Ross and Chris went above and beyond with taking pictures of us with the city behind us, plus sticking close and chatting with us at different points along the trip. We learned a lot about Austin, the Colorado river and the dams, and the bats. The information they shared was above and beyond what I anticipated. 5 stars and next time we are in town we will be doing this again! We did it on a weeknight and it was a great size group, but not as overwhelming as I would expect the weekends are. Either way, worth every penny!

Great memories! - We did not know what to expect but knew we wanted an outdoor family activity. We had to work together to move our boat down the river and felt so accomplished when we really got it moving. The communication it required from my three teenagers filled my heart! The guides were really knowledgeable about the bats and made the experience so worth it. My son is yapping about taking a date next time! Thank you boats and bats for a great new memory!

Amazing experience! - Arguably one of my family’s coolest experiences! My experience with Boats and Bats in Austin was exceptional! Aaron and his crew were second to none—thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating. The entire tour was well-organized and truly enjoyable. My kids LOVED it! The highlights of the trip were undoubtedly the stunning sunset, the breathtaking skyline, particularly after the sun went down, and, of course, the famous bats. Watching the bats emerge at dusk was a spectacular sight, and Aaron's insightful commentary added so much to the experience. If you're looking for a memorable way to explore Austin, I highly recommend Boats and Bats. It's an unforgettable experience that combines nature, history, and the beauty of the city in a unique and delightful way. Five stars!

Well organized and great pictures! - Aaron was very organized and provided great information on the meetup site, kayaking tips, general river and water flows between the dams, and bat colony information. Definitely say yes to a beach chair and a tow - made the trip perfect!! 👸🏻🦇🌜 Also they thoughtfully took pictures of the groups for free!! Thank you!

Great experience! - Nice kayak to the bridge. Very informative about the bats. Beautiful skyline. It was a really fun experience. I would recommend, because if you want to stand at the bridge or places around it, you’re not going to get a good view. The guide will shine a red light so you can see the bats coming out. I’ve never kayaked before, it was surprisingly not bad. I didn’t even think about getting wet, so bring a change of clothes or dress appropriately.
