Jake/small pub tour=great time - We had an awesome customized tour with a very friendly, energetic and knowledgeable guide, Jake. Despite how crowded downtown Austin was due to the SBSW convention that caused some deviations from the usual tour route, we got to see several interesting and unique pubs. Our guide provided interesting history and great advice about the drinks. Jake made the trip so much fun and I would highly recommend the tour and Jake!

Amazing Tour with Jake - Jake was a personable and amazing tour guide. The tour happened to be on Fat Tuesday, so we couldn't do all that he had planned, which his apologized for. But we did almost everything. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He took his time on this tour. Food at the Driskill was fantastic and would highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat while you are there.

Great cocktail bar and mini-history tour! - Jake was fantastic! Great guide to some of the city's coolest bars and a super interesting person to get to know as well. We visited four bars and walked through another one and all of them were good, if not great! Jake also mixed in some history at/before each bar, which was also really interesting. None of the barswere packed so we never felt crowded. Although drinks weren't included in the price of the tour, that was fine because it allowed us to explore the full menu at each place instead of being locked into a certain drink or price range, and believe me, you WANT to explore the full menu at each of these places! Two things to note: 1) If you are looking for a bar/pub crawl in the traditional sense, this is NOT your tour... in the best way! The title of the activity, in my opinion, is a little misleading because it has "pub walk" in it, and when I think of "pub walks" I usually think of drunk bachelor parties and college kids stumbling down the 6th St. This is not that. All the bars we went to were either cocktail bars or speakeasies and were fairly lively, but super chill and somewhat intimate, with the exception of the first bar because it was early in the evening, but the first bar was still really cool to see because it had a lot of history to it. So if cocktail bars and speakeasies are your thing, you've come to the right place!!! 2) To the tour organizers, I'm torn as to whether the Driskill bar should be an actual stop and Firehouse Lounge should only be a walkthrough like we did, or whether it should be the reverse and we should stop at Firehouse and only walk through the Driskill. One one hand, the Driskill was the only bar that served food, and food was much appreciated midway through our tour. On the other hand, as historic as it is, the Driskill bar definitely felt the most "corporate" of all the places we went (since the Driskill itself is now a Hyatt property) and was the most overpriced place (in terms of value) on the entire tour. I'm leaning towards a walkthrough only of the Driskill and actually stopping at Firehouse, but could be convinced either way? All in all though, a wonderful tour!!!

Cool places, excellent cocktails, and interesting stories - Our guide, Jake, was a local comedian and great fun and personable. We went to the coolest bars/pubs that are historic and relevant to Austin. These are places that we most likely would not have visited otherwise. (I’m not revealing what bars we went to; you’ll have do the crawl yourself and discover the secrets.)

History and booze? Sign me up! - This tour was exactly what we were looking for — history with cocktails! We really enjoyed the bars we went to and learned about the history of early Austin. Will was an amazing tour guide and stayed with us longer than scheduled. We went on a slight Austin serial killer tangent and it was fascinating. Be sure to ask him about it!! Highly recommended.

Fun tour with excellent host - William was an excellent host. We visited a number of bars. At least two of which you’d mostly likely walk past unless taken. They were all really cool places. So glad I did tour and would definitely recommend.
