2 Days Cappadocia Tour From Antalya With Cave Hotel Overnight - This tour was managed by Hektor Travel, who we went with for an earlier city tour last week of Antalya. As soon as it was booked with Viator, I received a confirmation email and message via WhatsApp, and then within 24 hours of the scheduled commencement of the excursion, I received a further message confirming the pickup time from our hotel. Originally upon booking we were told to be outside our hotel for 3.30am, but this then changed to 4.40am in the further communication. Arrive well before your due time to avoid delaying the excursion. The driver was very prompt, arriving at 4.30am on the scheduled day of departure in a Mercedes Sprinter coach which is the usual type of vehicle used by tour operators in Turkey. We then picked up our guide, a very friendly chap called Şahin, who was very energetic and incredibly knowledgeable, especially with languages. The group size was perfect, and was an eclectic mix of people which included a very well behaved little boy. The journey from Antalya to Cappadocia was long, but Şahin was very accommodating and allowed plenty of time for breaks and restroom stops, even facilitating treatment for a guest who had an ongoing medical issue. He was also very generous and did all he could to make everyone feel welcome and be a part of such a wonderful programme of shared experiences, buying a large punnet of strawberries which he shared with everyone. Upon our arrival into Cappadocia, we were taken to an ancient Christian church and underground city which were both amazing. After lunch we then visited a pottery maker before heading to see the vast array of conical cave houses carved out of the remnants of volcanic larva spills near Göreme. Throughout the day, Şahin covered all the various optional bolt-on excursions that were available, which comprised of safaris on horseback, jeep or quad bike, hot air balloon rides in the top location worldwide for such an activity, hot air balloon viewing for those who didn't want to go up in the air but wanted instead to watch it all happen, and finally a visit to a Whirling Dervishes Ceremony. All the activities were very fairly priced, and it was explained by Şahin that balloon ride booking prices would fluctuate through the day to allow for operational adjustments to flying programmes. Once the first day was over, we were taken to an amazing Cave Hotel called Dedeli Konağ, which featured recently on the BBC television programme 'Amazing Hotels'. The hotel was literally amazing and will be the subject of a separate review on Google. As a note on this, don't forget your passport, as the hotel will need to see it so that they can complete a mandatory report to the Turkish authorities. In the evening, me and my wife went to see a local Whirling Dervishes event approximately 10 minutes from the hotel. It was in an underground cavern, and was a spectacle to behold. If you're going to see such a ceremony, be advised that it is a deeply historic and religious Islamic Turkish tradition. No photography or video is permitted, and the audience are reminded not to clap. On day two, we went to Love Valley, spending half an hour at the most serene place that I've ever visited. Inside the valley are a number of conical houses carved out of volcanic rock similar to what we saw in Göreme the previous day, but set inside a deep valley. After the visit we were taken to another factory outlet. Be reminded that these tours, like any others across the world, include visits to factories producing traditional local items. If you don't want to spend your money, have a polite look and then walk out as you are under no obligation to buy anything. After lunch we then headed back to Antalya, arriving at 7pm at our hotel. It's a long two days on the road, so be aware of this before you book. If you struggle with your mobility, there are some activities that you won't be able to do. The cave hotel didn't have any lifts so everyone has to walk up a number of steep external stone stairs to get to their rooms. This is the same for the restaurant which was on the roof. My only recommendation is to our tour guide Şahin, who was exemplary. As I have said, he is very energetic and friendly. When booking dinners and excursions Şahin, keep on top of your admin as there were a couple of occasions where you had to clarify what people had booked and who had paid. You are a fantastically vibrant, informative and well travelled guide with an absolute heart of gold, and the company is very fortunate to have you. This trip is highly recommended.

Must go two day trip - Simply amazing. Honestly I had the best two days of my life. The host Gozde was super friendly and helped with any questions or concerns, her English is perfect. You must choose the cave hotel as it offered an experience like no other hotel. I truly away the best pictures in my entire Antalya trip. The staffed picked me up from my location on time and took us to the best spots to take as many pictures possibly. The only hard part was deciding which pictures to upload on Instagram!

Trip to Cappadocia - This was a very cheap way to get to Cappadocia from Antalya, be aware it is 12 hours from pick up to arrival in the cave hotel, we were picked up st 5am in a rather small minibus. Luckily we had a great bunch of people on it, stopping for a basic Turkish breakfast on the way and various other stops as shown in the itinerary. The hotel was basic but had all that you needed. Tour guide was a bit disorganised with who and what monies he'd taken for all the up selling tours/balloon flights/lunches etc. He gave some very interesting insights into Turkey and some very funny personal stories, great stamina for talking for almost the full 12 hours! Good value for money overall.

The cave hotel was very... - The cave hotel was very nice and close to town and convenient for walking and exploring . The drive, however, was longer because there was a few stop to local onyx shop and pottery shop.. I expected to see more of Cappadocia fairytale chimney up close, but it was more drive-by. Our guide recommended and facilitated other activities for a good deal, but this tour was more focused on the cave experiences.
