Highlights
  • Chateauneuf-du-Pape - 30 minutes drive from Avignon

Tasting in the first estate of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It is one of the oldest in the appellation, built more than 300 years ago. There you will taste the famous reds of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but also the whites which represent only 5% of the production. This cellar has chosen to keep the traditional blend of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, namely the 13 grape varieties of the appellation (red and white) in the red wines, and the 6 white grape varieties in the white wines.
Duration: approximately 1 hour.

Then head to another historic estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, one of the largest in the appellation. You will also try the red wines and white wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but with a more modern blend composed of the main grape varieties of the appellation (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre).
Duration: approximately 1 hour.

Definitely worth doing ( 4 hours) - Arnaud was friendly and helpful , always on time and had a helpful introductory commentary to the area. His driving was perfect and I felt safe at all times. The three wineries we visited were all very different with good presentations, of contrasting wines. We bought several bottles without any sales pressure. Information was pitched at the right level. All our questions were taken seriously and answered. Seeing the landscapes and vineyards was a real treat - a sunny day for snow on the mountain tops. Definitely worth doing.
