Perfect introduction to Avignon! - Emile was a fantastic guide with a lot of information that made Avignon come alive. I think understanding the history of Avignon can be difficult to understand if you don't know much about how it was established and how it became the papal seat. Emile did a great job of walking through the timeline and the history in an easily digestible format that was approachable for everyone, regardless of their level of knowledge. He did a great job of encouraging questions and keeping the tour very engaging, despite the strong winds that would have been difficult to navigate for most. He did a wonderful job of making the palace of the popes come alive, and it would not have been as enjoyable without a guide. Lastly, we enjoyed the wine tasting, which was completely unexpected but a lovely way to finish the tour. I can't recommend this tour enough, and I strongly encourage you to do it when you first arrive in Avignon so that you can make the most of your visit!

Good walking tour of the area around the Pope's palace. - The guide had good knowledge of the area and the Pope's palace. It was nice to finish with a small (2 wines) tasting. If you really like history, get an audio guide for the palace.

Insightful tour of the centre of Avignon - Ir was a very insightful tour with a friendly and very good local guide. We did the morning tour which includes the area around the popes palace and the place de l’horloge, as well as the visit inside the popes palace. We did not visit a big part of the city, but an important one. The tour ends with a stop at a very nice wine place where we were able to taste a white and a red wine from the Rhône.
