Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Bouguemez Valley (1800m) – Ikkis N’Arous Pasture (2300m)

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Bouguemez Valley (1800m) – Ikkis N’Arous Pasture (2300m)
M’goun Massif - The first day of our journey begins with an early morning transfer from Marrakech to the charming little town of Azilal, known as the gateway to the mountain. From there, we continue our journey to Tizi N’Tirghist pass (2900m) before reaching the peaceful and happy valley of the Aît Bougmez. Upon arrival, we meet our team of muleteers and enjoy a delicious lunch. After that, we begin our ascent by going up the small valley of Arous towards the sheepfolds of Ikkis N’Arous pasture. Overnight in tents, five h drive, two h walk, Up500m, Down 0m, 8 km.
Day 2: Ikkis N’Arous Pasture – Tarkedit Pass (3400m) – Tarkedit Plateau (2900m)
M’goun Massif - On the second day, our adventure continues with a climb towards the Tarkedit pass, located at an altitude of 3400 meters. We stop a few times to admire the magical view of the Mgoun range and the Mgoun summit, culminating at 4068 meters above sea level. We then descend for about 2 hours to the plateau of Tarkedit, a vast plateau frequented by Nomads. Overnight in tents. Six hours walk, Up 1100m, Down 500m, 13 km.
Day 3: Tarkadit – M’Goun Summit (4071m) – Izabinne Sheepfold (2600m)
M’goun Massif - The third day has a particularly intense stage in store for us, with around 9 hours of walking on the program. We climb to the ridge, offering spectacular panoramic views to the summit of M’goun, the roof of the central High Atlas. From there, we will be dazzled by the splendid view of the entire M’Goun Massif and its distant valleys, particularly the Draa and Dades Valleys. A long descent through magnificent landscapes will finally take us to our camp. We will spend the night in tents, up 1200m, Down 1470m, 22 km.
Day 4: Izabinne Sheepfold (2600m) – Bouberden Pass (3100m) – Timit Village (1800m)
M’goun Massif - The fourth day will be an opportunity to meet nomads with their families, accompanied by their herds. We will head towards the Bouberden pass, culminating at 3100 meters above sea level, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and a rear view of the M’goun. A long descent will take us to the valley of Ait Bougmez, where we will enjoy a midday meal near the juniper amber. Then, after about 2 hours of further descent, we will reach our lodge in the village of Timit. We spend the night in a local Guesthouse—a 6-hour walk, up 500m, Down 1350m, 21km.
Day 5: Ait Bougmez Valley – Ouzoud waterfalls – Marrakech
Ait Bougmez Valley - On the last day, we drive to the small town of Azilal. A visit to the famous Ouzoud waterfalls is planned, followed by lunch at a small local restaurant nearby. After this excursion, we will return to Marrakech, where we plan to arrive around 4 p.m. 5-hour drive. End of Jebel M’goun trek.
