The rif with Chefchaouen Adventures: a grandiose moment - We spent 4 days and 3 nights in the rif and it was a wonderful time. Beyond the varied landscapes and breathtaking views, our trip is especially marked by the skillful kindness of our Guide Abdellah who does not know how to say no and who makes it all magical. The cottages are simple but clean, the hosts smiling and welcoming and especially the delicious hearty and healthy food. A big thank you to all your team!

Wonderful experience!!!! - Wonderful hiking in the Rif mountains! Thank you Najim for this great experience. Warm welcoming from our hosts, rooms very clean and delicious food. Moderate difficulty as described with short difficult parts. We saw various landscapes and even had the chance to swim in a paradise place near the Akchour cascades. Najim shared his great knowledge of all species and plants with us. Very rich experience to discover the culture from the North, do not hesitate and book!

A great hike through the Rif Mts - My wife & I just finished a 4 day hike through the Berber villages in the Rif Mts organized by Chefchouan Adventures. The hike took us from Chefchouan to Akchour then to Taurarte, Afreska then back to Chefchouan. In the villages, we stayed at country gites, all with warm showers and amazing food. The dinners had appetizers of olives, dates, pickled vegetables, fava beans, etc. We were also served wonderfully rich soups followed by a tagines infused with the flavor of wood smoke from the open fire, then fruits. Breakfasts had goat cheese, homemade butter and jams, honey, eggs and homemade breads with coffee or tea. The gites also packed us a picnic lunch each day. Needleds to say, we didn't go hungry. In contrast, our guide observed Ramadan, so he didn't eat or drink all day leading us through 6-8 hours of hiking each day with total ascends of some 1400m. The Rif Mts are rugged but farmed extensively by the Berber villagers growing wheat, fava beans, chick peas as well as figs, almonds and a variety of other food crops, however cannabis is by far the most extensively grown and cover some very steep hillsides which could easily pass for an expert ski run. Nejib, our guide, patiently explained the importance of various crops, farming practices, way of life in the villages as well as conservation issues facing the farmers to us. His narration contribited greatly to our experience and enjoyment pf this adventure.

Great but heavy - The walk is great and has stunning views and paths. It was unclear it is a 4 day trekking of full day walking with many miles and meters in altitude. Make sure you bring the right gear as shoes and backpack since you carry all yourself. We ended up hiring an extra mule, which was great fun actually. Also the site suggests you bring your own lunch for 4 days but our guide made wonderful lunches which was great and i would not want to have it otherwise. So we enjoyed this trip very much and the gites and People are very nice and heartwarming in their hospitality.
