From Ponta Delgada city centre by auto, head East by the coast following directions to Vila Franca do Campo. Once here, descend towards sea level and the Marina’s first Pier A where our Base and Yellow Zodiac Boats are stationed, and free parking can be found. (GPS: 37.715780, -25.429745)

Wet but wow! - From the moment we booked in, it was obvious how professional and friendly this team were. The initial intro given by a marine biologist was both powerful and interesting. Despite the ever worsening weather conditions, the team somehow managed to lead us to four sightings of sperm whales including a calf, as well as a pod of dolphins. Our guides knowledge was remarkable, right down to exactly when the whales were about to dive and thus we would then see the iconic tale appear. Book this trip come rain or shine 😃

Exceeded expectations! - Exceeded expectations - we saw 3 adult sperm whales with 1 calf, all of them fluked! Then we proceeded and spotted a massive pod of dolphins jumping about for a long time! We followed them around for a long enough time and thoroughly enjoyed it! The speed ride in thr boat itself was super fun! Would highly recommend!

One of our favorite Açores experiences! - Amazing crew! Loved the overview of different species we might see before leaving the marina. We found sperm whales almost immediately, and the entire time we watched them, our crew narrated with educational info about the whales behavior and habitat. We then spotted a pod of striped dolphins, much to the joy of my 6 year old daughter who was dying to see dolphins! The staff/crew really surpassed expectations. Extremely helpful with booking/planning. They catered to my young daughter, making sure she had optimal viewing of the animals, immediately came over to lift her up and support her so she could stand on her seat when whales were seen on the opposite side of the boat, and made sure she was covered with waterproof gear when the waves got a bit splashy. The islet tour at the end was an added beautiful bonus! Overall an amazing experience! I highly recommend Terra Azul!

Lovely boat ride; nice scenery and enjoyed viewing marine life - Enjoyed the experience - great views of the island while we were at sea. We saw a sperm whale and pod of dolphins. We also enjoyed the short tour around the islet to end the experience.

Amazing your! - Amazing tour! I was a little apprehensive about the zodiac boat tour but it was wonderful! The crew and staff was professional and confident. The naturalist was so excited our entire trip and seemed as thrilled as we were to see the dolphins and whales we saw. We saw 3 adult sperms whales and 2 baby sperm whales. At one point a baby breeched about 100 yards away from our boat! It was amazing!

September sperm whale calf - This was a very special experience, a really well organised trip, with briefing beforehand, excellent communication from very knowledgeable guide Sandra and skilful piloting from Daniel. We saw pods of bottlenose dolphins and common dolphins, then using experience and some simple technology we headed far out to see 3 sperm whales and a calf, a profoundly moving event. It felt such a positive moment in the often depressing news around our natural world. All the creatures were given space to behave as naturally as possible, nothing was rushed, and in the midst of all this there was real care shown by the staff for someone who was unwell from the boat motion. I have lived in Africa for many years so am used to encounters with wildlife, but this was at another level, I would recommend to anyone interested in the future of our whole planet!

Nice trip, whales not garanteed - We had a great time, good quality boat, very nice staff. Seeing whales is not garanteed!! but we did from afar. Still the boattrip was nice with a good weather.

Horrible Communication and Very Rude - I had a very disappointing experience with Terra AZUL. We were promised a pick-up in front of our location, but they claimed the street was too narrow. Instead, we were told to walk to another spot, but the communication was horrible and unclear about where we were supposed to go. By the time we arrived, the bus had already left without us. As visitors from the States, this was especially frustrating. Andrea, who we spoke with, was extremely rude and unhelpful. Overall, we are super dissatisfied with how everything was handled.
