Nagano Prefecture is renowned as the largest wasabi producer in Japan. Nestled among the rice fields, the rural area of Azumino, just outside Matsumoto, is home to Japan’s largest farm, Daio Wasabi Farm. This farm is a popular tourist destination, featuring expansive fields and a carefully maintained network of small streams that continuously supply each wasabi plant with pure, clean water.
The tour offers a traditional lunch that showcases the unique flavor of real wasabi, accompanied by other local delicacies. Under the “Shinshu” brand – the historical name for Nagano Prefecture – visitors can savor beloved Shinshu soba, Shinshu miso, and other delicious treats.
Visitors are encouraged to try a variety of Wasabi-flavored products during their visit, such as Wasabi ice cream, Wasabi beer, Wasabi sausages, or even a Wasabi burger!
