The most authentic and meaningful experience! - I couldn’t recommend this tour enough and it was without a doubt the highlight of our whole trip! The tour was authentic and meaningful, a real insight into Fiji. I felt so comfortable to ask questions, engage in conversations with everyone and share many many laughs. I am so grateful to have spent time at the school and with families within Fiji. A tour I will always hold close to my heart!

A wonderful Fiji experience - I couldn't recommend this tour more highly. I spent a week in Fiji for work and had only a half day at the end for any kind of sightseeing. I'm so glad I took this tour. In just a few hours, I got to finally get a peek into what real Fiji is like. We saw a market, a school, ate with an Indian family and a Fijian family, and got to ask a lot of questions of real people here. Everything about the tour was thoughtful. The people we met treated us like family. I'm so glad I took this tour. Highly recommend.

A must do while in Fiji. - An absolutely memorable experience of the real Fiji. From the minute Lina collected us from our hotel we were treated like family by her and all the locals we had the privilege of meeting and spending time with. From sampling local produce, spending time with school children and being welcomed into family homes and villages to experience their culture first hand, not only were our stomachs full with their fresh food but our hearts were full. Definitely a must do on a trip to Fiji.

Book this tour if you want to learn about the Fijian lifestyle and culture - We did the half day Yavuna tour with Off The Grid tours. Lina was our tour guide and was fantastic. She checked in the night before and was on time to pick us up at the hotel.
We started off with a lovely trip to the local market to see the fruits, vegetables and talk to some of the shop keepers who were great. We then went on to visit a primary school and the kids were so amazing and happy to see us. Our kids (5 and 3) loved spending time with them and looking around the school.
We then went to two different villages and leanred about the lifestyle, culture and had some home made food which was delicious.
I would happily do this tour again and reccomend it for anyone looking to learn more about the culture. We had poeple in our group who were 3 years old and 80 years old - all had a great time so it suits eeveryone!
Thank you Lina for a great experience. I hope to see you next time we are in Fiji (no white license plates!).

Authentic Fijian Experience - An authentic cultural experience immerses you in the traditions, customs, and way of life of a particular group of people. I was invited by a friend to try out this Off the Grid tour. I hesitated because I think it will be just like another tour out there in Fiji I have been to. To my surprise Off the Grid tour is by far the most authentic I’ve been to. Off the Grid Tour involves, engaging with local communities trying traditional daily cuisine, participating in traditional ceremonies or activities, and learning about the history and beliefs that shape their culture. Step out of your comfort zone and fully engage with Off the Grid Tour visiting local market in town, learning the Indian side of Fiji by visiting an Indian family in sugar cane farm and a final stop at a Fijian village for a toast of Fijian village experience. The highland scenery was breathtaking which was the icing in the cake for this tour.

A first hand insight into traditional Fijian and Indian Culture - So many tours claim to be 'authentic' but this is the real deal. Paulina and a driver looked after the two of us for the day. Paulina has experience managing international resorts, but has a passion to show tourists the real Fiji.
First stop was a small, local market in Nadi, and then we headed inland to experience 2 unique opportunities to engage with Fijians (both Indians and Fijian) in their homes, and also see the expansive scenery and mountain ranges along the way.
Our first stop was to share with a delightful Indian couple who live an almost self-sufficient lifestyle on their cane farm. We were shown around their home and then enjoyed the first part of lunch. The coconut and tamarind roti were to die for. I didn't see any other tours that included the Indian side of Fiji.
second stop a remote Fijian village, with a generous kava welcome and tour of the village and their lifestyle, with children playing, women washing clothes in the river, followed by another traditional Fijian meal. So much yummy food.
We loved our time in Fiji with the islands, great weather and resorts but this tour was by far our highlight. It felt 'real'. Such a privilege to share their rich cultures. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see beyond the resorts. We stayed longer than anticipated because Paulina wanted to let us enjoy the experience.

Special - A profound and enjoyable insight into the life of an Indian Fijian farming family and a traditional Fijian village. We were invited into their homes and given an appreciation of their lives and provided with food and hospitality. Fiji has great weather and beaches and resorts but you’ll miss out on something special if you don’t do this tour.

Incredible tour of the real Fiji with school and village experience - Our tour with Off the Grid was so memorable and special with our two families - 4 adults and 4 kids aged 5, 6, 8 and 8.
The first stop was a fresh fruit and vege market in Nadi where we got to see and taste some amazing fruit and vege, as well as supporting one of the markets established by the government to support locals post COVID.
The second stop was a local school where we got to show our kids how Fijian students learn - certainly made them appreciate the opportunities and resources provided to them in Australia.
The third stop was a family farm where we were invited into their home and got to talk with our host about the Indian Fijian culture and history.
The final stop was a traditional Fijian village where we were welcomed by the Chief with a kava ceremony (incredibly special - as tourists you can not just enter a village, you need to be invited and accepted). Once initiated we had a tour accompanied by the beautiful village children.
This was such a special and unique adventure and we recommend it to anyone coming to Fiji. Especially if you’d like to experience the real culture of this wonderful country.

It was personal and authentic. I can’t recommend this tour enough. If you’re looking for an authentic village tour this is absolutely perfect.
