This Phoenician city, where a triad of deities was worshipped, was known as Heliopolis during the Hellenistic period. Great historic sites - Great trip to Baalbek to see the Roman ruins. Some of the buildings are down to rubble, but one temple has withstood the test of time. Definitely worth seeing. The lunch in Anjar was AMAZING! That restaurant was worth the price of admission. The winery in Ksara is a nice finishing touch to a great trip.
