AN EXCLUSIVE JOURNEY THROUGH THE WINELANDS

GARDEN TOUR
The sprawling garden of Babylonstoren, encompassing around 3.5 hectares or 8 acres of tilled fruits and vegetables, constitutes the core of the farm. Its design draws inspiration from the historic Company’s Garden in Cape Town. This garden was once the fresh produce supplier to the Dutch East India Company’s sailing vessels during the period when the Cape served as a rest stop between Europe and Asia. Additionally, we pay homage to the legendary hanging gardens of Babylon, believed to have been constructed by Nebuchadnezzar in the 6th century BC for his wife who missed the landscapes of her childhood.
