Not safe for children - This was advertised as suitable for very young children and beginner riders. I bought the activity for my family a 2 year old, 6 year old, 8 year old, myself and my mother who was in her 60s. My husband was there but he had a bad back and was not going to come. The road to get there to start with is only really suitable for a 4x4 car. It is so full of pot holes. When we got there they were running late. Then they said my 3 year old was too young but could ride on my lap. I am not an experienced rider. My husband had driven us but he had a bad back so wasn't going to come with us. My mother was nervous so they asked him to lead her and he agreed. They gave us no instruction what so ever. We got on the horses and the guide who took us spoke no English. My mother's horse was very slow and kept biting my husband, soon they were so far back I could hardly see them and they couldn't catch up. The track was very rocky and icy and the horses were slipping. I did not feel comfortable on a massive horse with my 3 year old. I tried to steer the horse but it would not listen to me. It walked us through branches that were hitting us. I couldn't stop the horse and the guide who was leading my 6 year old was far back, up ahead out of sight was my 8 year old who also couldnt stop her horse. I was shouting for her to pull back on the reins hoping we could catch up with her. I was so scared for her. She could not stop the horse. The guide with my 6 year old was out of sight somewhere further back. No one was in control of the situation. The horses then stopped as a dog was barking at them from somewhere. They could have easily been spooked and run off. I took this opportunity to jump off and get my 3 year old off. I had to catch up with my 8 year old and take hold of her horse and get my 3 year old to stand back on her own. Once the guide caught up he made a phone to back to the farm presumably. I don't know what he said but he was not happy. It was such a dangerous situation to have young children and in experienced riders out on 4 horses with only 1 non English speaking guide. Then we had to walk back to the farm on icy ground with horses slipping and young children to deal with. My husband had to lead 2 horses which did not help his bad back and he was not happy that we were put in this situation. Thank goodness he was there. I don't know what we would have done if he wasn't or if he had been riding too which I had initially paid for but cancelled a few days before. I was so thankful we got back safely. It could have easily been very different. There was no one to meet us back at the farm. No photos were taken by the guide as stated in the advert. I have tried to contact them about this and I have had no response. I never want to put my children in danger like this again. Please do not take young children on this experience.
