• Capo Miseno - Our journey begins on the shores of Miseno, where a short walk leads us to the entrance of the Dragonara cave. This marks the first of many remnants of a vast underground Roman cistern, lying beneath the earth’s surface, aligned with the ancient estate of Lucullus. This is merely the starting point of our adventure, which will take us to the base of the Miseno crater, formed between 25,000 and 10,000 years ago. The crater’s environment supports a diverse array of birdlife, including both resident and migratory species. Amidst the Mediterranean flora, we’ll ascend an old Bourbon trail, offering us a magnificent view of Monte di Procida, the site of the remnants of the ancient Archiflegreo volcano. We’ll witness the historical heart of the Roman naval force, leading up to the peak near the Miseno lighthouse. At this vantage point, our eyes can feast on a sweeping view that spans well beyond 180 degrees. Our excursion concludes as we make our descent along a trail skirting the edge of the crater, towards the open space near the lighthouse.
