A thorough understanding of the 400-year span of slavery cannot be obtained without touring the former port used for slave trade. We offer a private visit to explore the previous quarters of slaves and view the maintained artifacts at the Slave Museums. This experience will provide you with the chance to gain insights into the actual events and circumstances surrounding the slave trade. Many individuals, now recognized as Black Americans, have traced their lineage back to Africa to document their personal stories.
Your tour consists of a boat journey to the ‘Point of No Return’ (Gberefu Island), which served as a route for the slaves being shipped to foreign nations. During the tour, a short pause at the ‘Attenuation Well’ is scheduled, where the slaves were compelled to drink from mystical waters that led them to forget their identities. There will also be a brief halt at the beach front of the Point of No Return for some rest and contemplation.
