Rite of Passage - This trip was a rite of passage for us. Deeply humbling and personal. I employ all African-Americans to make this journey at least once in their lifetime. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable of the history and significance of the "Point of No Return".

Great historical tour! - The "Slave Trade Tour: Badagry Black Heritage Adventure" is an incredibly poignant and educational journey. This tour offers a profound insight into the harrowing history of the slave trade through the historic town of Badagry, one of the key points in the West African slave route. The guides are knowledgeable and passionate, providing detailed narratives that bring the chilling realities of the past to life. Visiting sites like the Slave Ports, the Black History Museum, and the Point of No Return was an emotional experience, deeply enhancing my understanding of the impacts of slavery. This tour is a must for anyone interested in the true history of the African diaspora and the resilience of its people. Highly recommended for its educational value and the respectful treatment of its delicate subject matter.

Well organized, stress free - As I walked through Badagry, the echoes of a harrowing past weighed heavily upon my soul. The rusted chains and crumbling relics of the slave trade told stories of unfathomable suffering and loss. Each step on the cobblestone streets felt like a somber pilgrimage through time, a stark reminder of humanity's capacity for cruelty. The sorrow in the air was palpable, a silent testament to the countless lives torn apart by an era of darkness. Standing by the shores where countless captives embarked on their doomed journey, I was overwhelmed by a profound sense of grief and remembrance.

Wonderful insightful tour - The experience was very insightful. Coordinating pick up was easy due to great communication from the tour operators. I was picked up from my hotel in a comfortable vehicle with AC, and we traveled the 1 hrs west of Lagos to Badagary. In Badagary the tour guide did a wonderful job of showing me the actual rooms, tools, and methods used in the enslavement camp. The tour didn’t feel rushed at all, and the long walk through the sun and sand to the point of no return (now the point of return with the construction of the return point) reinforced the gravity of what took place back then and the systems still in place today. Definitely a tour that was worth the money and time. Bring a water bottle/gatorade, comfortable walking shoes, food/eat before the trip, and possibly an umbrella for the sun

Samap Badagry tour. - Joy, my guide, was really good. She could answer all my questions and I learnt so much about the terrible and unforgivable slave trade and also much else about Lagos and Nigeria.

Don’t miss this tour. It’s a MUST! - DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR I went in this tour at the last minute and I can’t believe I almost didn’t go. Coming to Africa has been a true experience and going on this made it even better. I learned so much about slavery and the people involved. I was able to see there they held slaves before taking them the pointe of no return. The amazing apart of it all was that there are people who actually live in the homes where they kept the slaves. They are descendants of one of them men to rehabilitated the area. This was a very emotional journey for me. Please go. Take your time and look at everything. Going with this company made me feel extremely comfortable and safe. They were very knowledgeable about the area and was able to tell me about things as we drove. Do be in mind it’s. 2 hour journey there, about 3 hours on the tour and 2 hours back. My ONLY con and it’s not really a con because everyone there lives like it. The bathroom is like an outhouse. So I was not familiar with it. It was actually pretty cool. But some may find it difficult to use. But they will show you how to use it. P.s you have to take a boat ride but it’s only about 2min if that. GO ON THE TOUR

A must do! - This tour is an absolute must. Being immersed in the history of the slave trade was deeply moving and personal. While the drive to and from Badagry is long, it was so worth it. The tour driver was fantastic, easily and safely navigating traffic. Joy was a wonderful guide, friendly and informative. Make sure to bring your passport as there is an immigration check you may be stopped at during the drive there. There is a fair bit of walking involved on this tour so consider good footwear and bring your own lunch or snacks. Highly recommend. Thank you so much for a once in a lifetime experience.

Good tour but expensive - The tour was okay, we were able to see a few spots related to the slave trade time, which was interesting. In each spot there was a different guide who would explain the things found there. Joy and the driver was nice and protective. Be ready to face the immigration police on the way there, they will want money from you to let you through in case you do not bring your passport and entry stamps to the country. All in all, while it was a good tour, I believe it was too expensive for the product received.
