• Dahshur Lake - Proceed to the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids). The Dahshur area is a royal necropolis situated in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile, approximately 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Cairo. It is renowned for several pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt, built between 2613–2589 BCE.

• Pyramids of Giza - Visit the Giza Pyramids, where you will see the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren & Mykerinos. Then, visit the Valley Temple, where the priests mummified the body of King Chephren. Here, you will also have a close-up view of The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, standing by the vast funeral complex.

• Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine found in a temple ruin from a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were discovered in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Information about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For instance, Khufu is the main character in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.

• Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, with some found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860, and others discovered during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.

• Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex comprises a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also revealed several statues of Menkaure.
