Ella, endearingly known as one of Sri Lanka’s top tourist destinations, owes much of its popularity to its stunning landscapes and thrilling hiking experiences like Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak. The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella, part of the Demodara loop, spans 91 meters and stands 24m high, set amidst dense jungle and fertile farmland. A verdant forest sprawls behind the railway while tea leaves grow below. The Nine Arch Bridge is a unique architectural wonder, constructed entirely from rocks, bricks, and cement, with no steel or metal used. Its construction was finalized in 1941.

Little Adam’s Peak is named in reference to its larger counterpart, the sacred mountain Adam’s Peak, due to their similar shape. Adam’s Peak is located further west in Sri Lanka.
