Compulsary - if you want to know Bali - Two balinese habintants picked us up exactly at the time we agreed on. They were really friendly, kind and reliable. The tour was varied, we couldn’t discover Bali without this program. The guide was flexible, we had as much time as we wanted. He was always willing to take a picture of us. He knows places that you can never find on the internet, but if you want to know Bali you want to be there. They give you a private time with your partner – for example: at lunch. They are well-organised, they are taking care about you ie.: they prepare with cold bottle water.

Best of Bali - This is our fourth trip to Bali, but this tour was our best yet. If you want to see the other side of Bali, this is the trip for you. We started on time then out through the rice Paddy's, took the top off the Landy for excellent viewing and amazing waves and smiles from locals. The rice walk was interesting and informative although we needed to ask lots of questions. Next traditional lunch - yum! Time to go says Mertayasa so we are off again. Next stop up to the lakes where we were entertained and could view local wild life - snake bats and monitor lizards. Amazing lake views great photo shot opportunity and tropical rain. We were in the clouds awesome. Off again this time to coffee tour and tasting. Superb even tried a 'catpoochino'. Excellent no pressure to buy takeaways. Wouldn't get the tea powders past Aussie immigration I don't think. Off again. This time to a 30 minute rainforest walk with a lovely knowledgeable guide and stick to ward off snakes - not really but a giggle. As we emerge from the forest - behold a canoe awaits to transport us across the lake. We dip our uncoordinated paddles in the water but our guides actually get us to where we are supposed to be. Lo and behold we have a fire to warm our hands (well it was only 25°) and a hot coffee to greet us. Unique and very neat to meet local family. Off to the Temple - oldest in Bali, then off for our trip back. Purde? got us back in under 2 hours. Local knowledge and expertise driving. This guy can DRIVE believe me four times to Bali - THIS guy can drive. Cannot recommend this company highly enough. Small company but very high standard of customer service. Thanks Mertayasa, Purde and Madae. Peter and Colleen grey nomads.

Great day - Picked up at hotel on time
Drove for 4 hours with CHOC giving a running commentary on the way up to the lakes. Seen a temple on fire on the drive up with feelings helpless as fire brigade was 40min away.
Got the top off the 4by and was allowed to hang out as we drove along to take in the scenery and crazy driving by locals .we went on a guided
Walk through the amazing rainforest
And an easy canoe paddle through
Water Lillie's to be met by 4by to continue our tour...authentic lunch
Our tour overall was a wonderful day
And fond memories to remember
Bali for it's natural wonders!
Highly recommended

Fun full day trip - We booked this tour through Bali Made tours and our guide Alex and driver picked us up right on time from our hotel.
Alex was brilliant, a very kind man, very knowledgable and put a lot of effort into the whole day.
I will start by saying if you're not feeling great or you suffer with any type of travel sickness then this is not the tour for you! It's a rough and ready tour!
The 4wd vehicle is a bit retro which we really liked but this does mean it doesn't have air con or any luxuries so make sure you're prepared to be a bit hot and bothered. They take the roof off so you can stand up and take in the surroundings which is good fun!
The tour takes you through proper rural villages and up to the rice fields at Jatiluwih which are stunning. We had a quick hike through and then they took the vehicle through the jungle. This was proper off-roading with the truck at tipping point some of the time and only just narrow enough to fit through the trees either side. The driver was really skilled!
We stopped in the forest and they bought out camping chairs and made us coffee which was a really nice break. We then carried on up through the mountains to stop for lunch. We must have stopped at a different restaurant than advertised as we didn't have a view but it was a decent sized buffet.
The tour then took us across to the twin lakes in the North and we then did a short trek with a local guide through the forest to the lake and got to see some really old trees on the way. An older local lady came out of nowhere and she and the guide then took us across the lake in some canoos to the other side where the truck was waiting for us again. On the lake the proper heavy rain started and they did give us plastic to cover us but the rain was very very heavy. This added to the experience but be prepared for all weather.
On the way back to the hotel the truck stopped at a local fruit stall and a coffee plantation. I would be very careful at these places as you're very much under pressure to buy things here. We did buy some coffee and later realised we'd paid about 4x the price we should have! The coffee plantation was interesting and worth a visit but be wary of the shop at the end.
All in all we've given this tour a 5 because we felt it was a bit different to other tours, the 4wd truck was definitely an experience, the guide and driver were very attentive and we did visit some very rural and local villages. The tour was let down by the last few stops where we felt a bit conned and also the lunch wasn't the best.
Advice is - be prepared, take all weather gear you don't mind getting dirty, plenty of water and be resilient if under pressure to buy!

Fun exploring Bali with great service! - We had a surprise birthday celebration in the Bedugal rainforest which the tour guide mentioned that we were the first to organise this. The 4WD was super cool as it had to navigate in the rainforest terrains, at some point in time, we were also driving at 45 degrees tilted to one side! Everything went well apart from some monsoon rainfalls which had shortened our trip. Nevertheless, we will be back again with this company for more adventures!

Excellent experience - Coming from Kangaroo Island, where there are a lot of small tour experiences available, we were skeptical about what we would get on this tour!
I'm delighted to say it was a great day. Sure the vehicle was not the newest - but who cares, and it didn't let us down.
We were picked up and dropped off at our villa. It was a full day, but easy.
There for four of us, three never having been out of Australia/New Zealand - I can think of no better way to see Bali outside the resort area.
Tony and Adam, our guide & driver, were excellent.
Highly recommend. bali4WDtour.com

Fantastic! A Must Do!!! - You have to do this tour whilst you are here, it's amazing!! The most friendly and helpful staff, and a superb driver.
It's an awesome experience, see the heart of Bali whilst being away from all the other tourists. When they say an off-road drive, they mean it!!
Quite simply and amazing day out that I recommend to anyone who comes to Bali, you will not regret doing this tour!

What a great day! - If you want to see the genuine Bali, this is what you got to do. The booking via internet was quite easy. We decided very spontaneous to do this tour. The organizers responded via email so quickly, that we could go the next day! They even picked us up in Padang-Padang which actually is pretty far away from Kuta. The guide (Eben) and the driver were very punctual und very friendly, answering any question we had about Bali. We had a tour to see the rice fields, the jungle and finally ending up in crossing the lake by kanoe, which made us feel like Indiana Jones, haha! Maybe we didnt't see any other tourist the whole day. So thanks for this great day, we defenitly recommed it.

4WD - Alex and Ryan looked after us very well, old school land rover with no seat belts but nothing you wouldn't expect in Bali, great day saw lots , lunch was lovely thanks, just a note about the walk through the rainforest, it was ok for us but if you are not fit or cant cope with climbing up and down don't go , and wear trainers or boots as its a bit tricky for older folk I would say

Not enough 4x4 action - Pick up was on time. Older 4x4 that had seen better days but did what was asked of it. Was a bit disappointed as we did very little 4wding and this was the main reason for picking this tour. Tour guides English was a little hard to understand at time. Positives got to see the not very touristy side to Bali, and some great site seeing. All in all a good trip but not what I was hoping for.
