Mount Batur is situated in the Kintamani Subdistrict, within the Bangli District. Between the years 1804 and 2000, Mount Batur experienced 30 eruptions. The eruption that caused the most destruction occurred from August 2 to September 21, 1926, engulfing both Batur Village and Ulun Danu Batur Temple in lava. Standing at an elevation of 1717 meters above sea level, Mount Batur has undergone significant transformation due to a gigantic eruption that resulted in the formation of a vast caldera. Due to its elevation of 1717 meters above sea level, beginner hikers often favor its trails. The panorama offered by Mount Batur is remarkably stunning. Typically, treks up Mount Batur start at about 3 in the morning and, for those new to climbing, it takes near 3 hours to ascend to the peak. It is advisable to undertake the journey with an experienced local guide. The essential items to carry include a warm jacket, a camera, a flashlight, and refreshments.
