- Lesung Bali Cooking Class - Class is located on the west side of Ubud, a place surrounded by green areas and the atmosphere of the countryside. When we arrive, we will take you to one of the local houses to see and know more about Balinese culture, lifestyle and how they placed the building at the house. Then we will take you to our farm to start…
- Lesung Bali Cooking Class - Class is located on the west side of Ubud, a place surrounded by green areas and the atmosphere of the countryside. When we arrive, we will take you to one of the local houses to see and know more about Balinese culture, lifestyle and how they placed the building at the house. Then we will take you to our farm to start the class, after we decided on the menu that we will cook, we will take you to explore the farm and harvest the spices that we will use during the class. after that, our Balinese chef will show you how to make authentic Balinese food with fresh ingredients that we picked from the farm. During the class, you will learn about the techniques used in the Balinese way of cooking, such as chopping and pounding spices with Lesung (mortar and pestle), then the chef will explain to you more about how to cook, how many ingredients that will use and what else does it need to cook based on the menu option. We have a variety of menus such as vegetarian or regular menus which you could choose during the class and the end we will serve candle light dinner.

Very happy, Puri is amazing. - Putri and her team were fantastic! We loved every bit of this class, balinese home visit was very special and whole cooking experience fun and effortless, definitely recommend romantic package for couples as decorations are lovely.

Amazing Balinese cooking experience - Wonderful experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. Putri, our teacher, was very patient and informative with a great sense of humour. First of all she explained how the families lived in Balinese houses and how their design worked while we enjoyed a delicious Coffe and snack. The dishes we made were easy to make with her guidance and so delicious. The romantic table setting where we ate the food we had prepared was also a highlight and a great end to the experience. Highly recommend this experience.

The evening cooking class was in a beautiful mature garden great location, staff very friendly & inviting, made to feel very welcome, experienced a true Balinese home with welcome tea & treats, the class was planned very well made to feel comfortable, good communication and explanation
The area was spacious & clean
We were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary, my
Husband hates cooking and I love cooking but he very much enjoyed the experience, care was put into the romantic element, romantic music and beautifully decorated table and area, hospitality spot on, if you are visiting Bali this is a must!!

Amazing team. Recommend for memorable quality time. - The experience was first-timer friendly - very systematic. The welcome was as warm as the cup of Balinese coffee and the introduction about Balinese Culture and Family was very interesting and informative. The cooking class was filled with jokes and fun - not a single boring moment. Amazing team - very helpful and kind. The food was very culture based and distinct. The night was sealed with an intimate dinner. Simply amazing.

If you’re going to do something in Ubud do this class !! - Amazing experience learning about the culture and food of Bali, had the best evening ever! Ron was an absolute fantastic host, friendly, smiley and very jokey. He made us feel so welcomed throughout our experience and the foods itself was incredible! The whole experience of this from the set up, the people, the food and vibe was just perfect we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Lesung and recommend this class to anyone of all ages as well as couples, friends or solo. Please support this local small business and we hope you have has much fun as we did!

Great cooking experience with a fantastic a d friendly crew - We were met by Ron for a tour of the garden where we were shown where locally grown spices and fruit and veg were, and being the green thumb expert in the family, I managed to mis-identify pretty much every plant I was shown.
Afterwards we went to the local family compound for a tour and Ron explained about the families that lived in the compound and of the family temple, and the ceremonies surrounding all the important milestones in a family - life, death, marriage, birth... Then we had coffee and tea and spoke about how the family unit operates, and honestly it was a surreal experience that I very much enjoyed.
We walked back down to the kitchen area and went to work on the six dishes with Putri and Agung, showing us how to chop and mush and mix all of the fresh ingredients together for our mini feast at the end of the night. Meanwhile, Ron was setting up the table and music for a romantic evening for two by candlelight in preparing for our local delicacies.
Thankfully, Putri is a great teacher and our food was delicious!
We left the evening with great memories, plenty of photos and a recipe book that I will probably struggle to replicate without Putri and Agung helping me along the way!
TLDR: 5/5 - would recommend 😂

A excellent experience of the traditional culture with a cooking class to finish the night with Mr Ron looking after you - It was a pleasure to meet Ron and his two beautiful lady’s who helped us in cooking class
The experience was amazing taking a walk thur a family home too show us the culture how the set up works in a village with different family members living there a temple in each village aswell it’s a must do learn a lot more things about there culture absolutely loved it.
Also Mr Ron is Avery funny man and thank you to the family let us have a cup of tea and tradition biscuits in there home.It was a very special night something to remember on our 30th anniversary also thank you to the newly married couple who did this with us from 🇺🇸we hope you have many more years together.
