A Day of Discovery in Bagaces

As a seasoned traveler and surfer, I’ve spent countless days chasing waves and exploring the vibrant cultures of Central America. But every now and then, I like to take a break from the surfboard and dive into the heart of the land. This time, my journey led me to Bagaces for the Waterfall and Sanctuary Tour—a day that promised a blend of nature and culture, and it delivered beyond expectations.

The day began with a visit to the stunning Cataratas Llanos de Cortes. Even when my son felt unwell, Luis was quick to offer help, showing a level of kindness and hospitality that is rare to find.

The tour concluded with a visit to a coffee and cocoa plantation, where we delved into the rich traditions of Costa Rican agriculture. Walking through the plantation, we learned about the intricate processes of growing, harvesting, and producing coffee and chocolate. The air was filled with the intoxicating aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sweet scent of cocoa.

Tasting the freshly brewed coffee and artisanal chocolate was a sensory delight. Each sip and bite was a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of the local producers. It was a fitting end to a day that celebrated the natural beauty and cultural richness of Costa Rica.
