It was a lot of fun and totally recommended! We traveled the desert in a 4x4, the driver stopped us at different places to visit, and we photographed all of them beautiful. The last stop will consist of camping with tents, bags, blankets, dinner, all prepared and organized by the driver, a great effort so that you only have to enjoy. I cook us super rich. We also did sandboarding at one of the stops!! If you've never done it, it's very cool!

The wonderful white desert - The experience on the trip to the white desert was incredible. We arrived at the oasis of Baharya from Cairo where we ate well. Then we went to the black desert to have a look and it was amazing. We also have a stop at Crystal Mountain and another such beautiful place. And we took a bath in some hot springs! To finish we camped in the white desert and it was one of the best experiences of my life! The sunset and sunrise in the morning was amazing. They prepared a very good dinner and breakfast for us! Thanks for that! If you come to Egypt, you have to do this experience! I would recommend it to everyone who loves nature and adventure!

Very special birthday experience camping in the desert oasis - Highly recommend this tour to the Bahariya oasis! Pictures and reviews don't do it justice, a very special experience that many Egyptians were surprised we knew about! Mahmoud made booking this trip for my birthday very easy and made sure I had an excellent one that I'll never forget. Our good natured guide Mohammed was a Bedouin expert who made our female group of 4 feel very safe and welcome on this desert safari. We stopped at the Stars base camp which has all the comforts of home (shower, toilets) and beautiful little touches around the camp. After a lovely vegetarian welcome lunch we visited the white crystal desert, hot spring at Fez, underwater graveyard, black volcanic ash desert and the 'mushroom' desert. We camped overnight at the mushroom desert and once dusk fell Mohammed expertly set up the tent, fire and a delicious and fresh, 3 course meal of vegetable soup, chicken and potatoes. He then surprised me with balloons and a cake for my birthday! While there was a lot of driving from Cairo (~5hrs to base camp), the cars were comfortable and the company was excellent. I recommend sunglasses and a sun hat for the desert dust and (manageable) heat.

Camping under the cloudy sky with amazing views - Exciting trip to the dessert visiting different sites within the Black Desert and the White Dessert. Our driver Ahmed gave the best so that we had a great adventure in the 4x4. He tooks to different places which breathtaking views and landscapes while providing safe but adventurous driving all the way through. He set camp in the middle of the desert in no time and prepared a delicious dinner for all of us which we had under the desert sky, although unfortunately too cloudy to see the stars, followed by tea made from the fireplace. He was very friendly and spoke good English. Communication with him and the operator was great. The only downsides of the trip is that it takes about 5 hrs to get to the first stop and the driver (another person different to the guide at the desert) didn’t speak English. Luckily we had an Egyptian traveler with us, otherwise it would have been difficult to understand each other. Overall, if you are for an adventure and don’t mind to sit your butt for over 8 hrs of have the experience, I would totally recommend it.

Long but worth it. Please read and be safe! - Not sure which company/party would be responsible. I booked the trip through TripAdvisor with whom I thought was Egypt Vacation Tours but they ended up hiring a third party to take us to the desert. What made this trip worth it was definitely the views and the people from our group; I can say I met life long friends. But when it comes to the tour company, choose someone more reliable with better communication and organization. I booked the trip in March for the overnight stay and was being charged an extra $50 because they said they thought I was just doing the day trip. How when it’s booked on confirmed on TripAdvisor?! There was supposed to be 2 trips but they combined it all into 1 and none of us were aware until the day prior. We weren’t told it would be 6 people in 1 car. At first we believed it was just 4 but the company added 2 extra people and didn’t bother to tell us until we met them and they told us; isn’t that the tour companies job? With all the bags, food/snacks we bought and equipment, it was a very tight ride in 2 cars. First car took us from Giza to half-way into the desert and then we switched to an all-terrain car to go about in the desert. There should have been a bigger car or small bus for us in order to travel comfortably especially with the amount of money we all had to pay. We complained to the company and all they said was, you’ll switch to another car soon. It was the same thing, still tight with no room for anyone. Also, bring your own toilet paper because that isn’t provided, but it’s the desert so sort of expected. In the tour they say there’s a cold and hot spring you’ll visit. We didnt think that cold and hot spring were worth it as it was too small to enjoy. We didn’t get in either pools because in the first one there was animal feces in the water and the second one, the water was almost boiling. Wait… it gets worse. There was an incident between the driver in the desert and a passenger in my group. In the early morning while none of us were awake, the driver was trying to talk to her in a sort of romantic way and then he started to touch his private area in front of her. She asked him to leave and he left her alone thankfully and nothing further happened. But what does the company say? “I’m so sorry to hear that.” That’s it. On top of that this guy had previously asked her for her Facebook and Instagram, proceeded to follow her and then unfollow her when he realized he was barking up the wrong tree. And what does he do? Later asked me for mine. It was a very inappropriate and very uncomfortable experience. On top of that, I’m getting Facebook requests from a different guide from the same company; still inappropriate company guidelines. If it wasn’t for the people in my group that I met that day, I wouldn’t have enjoyed the sites at all and probably would’ve cancelled the trip. The company did not follow up nor try to make the situation better; they could’ve refunded us our money for experiencing that under their “watch.”
