• Blue Nile Falls - After a relaxed lunch break, drive to the Blue Nile Falls, located about 30 km from Bahir Dar. The falls are the most iconic waterfalls in Ethiopia.

After visiting the falls, transfer back to Bahir Dar, stopping off for coffee on route.

Bahir Dar is located on the shores of Lake Tana, which is characterized by its numerous island monasteries, some of which originated in the 14th century. The lake’s more than thirty islands today constitute a distinctive ecosystem for botanical life.

The Blue Nile Falls, found on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia, go by the name Tis Issat in the Amharic language, which translates to ‘smoking water.’ Positioned on the river’s upper stretch, they lie approximately 30 kilometers away from Bahir Dar and Lake Tana.
