Mysterious Ethiopia - The sites we visited are just marvelous. The ancient churches on lake Tana are awe inspiring, with their bright color frescoes. The nature near the Blue Nile falls is so peaceful. We had the chance to see all this with Mass and Grum. They are a funny bunch, yet so knowledgeable and kind. Thanks so much!

Mass fantastic, a fantastic introduction to Ethiopia - Mass, the guide, now friend is one of a kind. The places are mesmerising, got lucky to see a huge snake and birds blooming in color, geese with chicks, some traditional stuff I chose, (my request, nothing is forced upon you), met great people - yet it is Mastewel Zeleke makes it an unforgettable experience, he can listen, talk, teach about nature, history, humanity, religion, warm, patient, kind open - one of tje hearts of Ethiopia, Amhara and "the mayor" in Bahar Dar. A man of his word too.

Beautiful Bahirdar - It was a great boat trip to the monasteries and walking through the beautiful streets of Bahirdar with enough explanations of places including historical ones. The sunset spots were super!

A day with Mas - The day started with my arrival at Bahir Dar airport and then off to Tississat to have a walk and see the waterfalls of the Blue Nile. After about 5 km on pavement, the road became just gravel. So, about 30 km to enjoy an "African Massage". The 30 minute walk to the falls was great - lots of local people using the path we took. What was interesting was that we crossed the first stone bridge constructed in Ethiopia in 1626. The scenery was stunning! When I visited, I thought the falls were underwhelming as much of the water had been diverted to a hydro electric station and it was the dry season. In the afternoon a visit to Lake Tana and 1-hour boat ride to Zege Peninsula. The objective was to see Ura Kidane-Mihret monastery which involved a short walk along a shaded trail lined with tourist knick-knacks stalls. The monastery was beautiful and the interior frescoes were stunning. Mas provided an explanation about the shape of the monastery and pointed out many of the biblical stories being told through the frescoes. The return boat journey culminated in a sighting of Hippos enjoying the cool water. My travel companion arrived in the afternoon on a later flight. After some confusion on the part of the airline about whether the flight was cancelled, Mas was able to confirm that it was just a delay. Mas was able to take me back to the airport to meet my friend. Mas provided a very enjoyable day and I would recommend his service for this trip.

Do it with Mas! - Mastewal (Mas for short) is knowledgeable, friendly, resourceful, organised, fun and practical. He and his team went beyond the call of duty to be of great help during our visit in Bahir Dar. Mas picked us from the airport and expertly guided us to enjoy the Blue Nile waterfalls, the boat trip on Lake Tana and the visit to monasteries. He ensured we are well taken care of to our trip to Gondar next day. No request was beyond Mas. He will deliver it with passion, big smile and Ethiopian hospitality. If you are visiting Bahir Dar, lake Tana, Tis Abay and surrounding areas, do not waste your time searching for a better tour organiser. Just call Mas!

A morning visit to the Blue Nile Falls - What a morning! Mas was a great guide and companion for my morning hike to the falls. Very knowledgeable about the area, and also knew everyone we met along the way. I give him 5 stars for trying really hard to ease my fear of heights when we got to the suspension bridge - that I had no idea was on this tour. I would have never taken this option had I known about the bridge. But Mas held me the entire way across and even made me laugh. Very awesome experience👍

Mass is a fun and friendly guide - Day tour to Blue Nile falls, Lake Tana and monasteries. Mass is friendly and really good fun as a guide, great talker and makes you feel at ease. He is also really knowledgeable and is interested in getting to know his clients. Seems to have a good network of local guides, boat tours etc. Highly recommended. Also, we were lucky enough to see a family of hippos on the Blue Nile River!
