Are you touring the southern Dalmatian coast? This escapade is ideal for those journeying along the ‘D8’ route between Split and Dubrovnik. The Bacina Lakes are a breezy (100km) 2hours drive from either city, conveniently located just 300 meters from the Adriatic sea off the D8 road. Paddle surfing escapades present a wonderful chance to immerse in the local culture and experience the rich biodiverse ecosystem around the seven Bacina Lakes and the Neretva river delta. Traverse through canals, marshlands, witness a plethora of bird species, fisherman villages and sights you’d miss if you traipse the main roads of Dubrovnik-Neretva County in Croatia. With guidance from professionally trained tour guides, you’ll master Stand Up Paddle in a matter of minutes and set off for one of the most enthralling SUP experiences in Croatia.

Fantastic introduction to SUP - Thanks Ivan :) - What a fantastic day out - we really enjoyed our day and Ivan made us feel at ease from the moment we arrived. Everything was explained in easy terms while we were on land and it was not long before we were paddling around the lake taking in the phenomenal views. Crystal clear water, great weather, light winds...everything we needed to get started...and also some fruit at our stop. We were so lucky that, in this case, we were the only two on the course, so we had Ivan all to ourselves and had an exceptional day. We would thoroughly recommend the course - it was worth every penny. It was not too tiring either so the three hours was just right for learning the skills needed to paddle board confidently.

Brilliant experience - We just spent an amazing 3 plus hours with Ivan, excellent tutor and brilliant guide with a very good sense of humour. The lakes and the local wildlife are amazing to experience, with Cormorants and Eagles that roost on the lakes.
All round superb experience, with a hammock and refreshments half way around to build up energy again - but the experience can be as chilled or as energy sapping as you want it to be. Hvala Ivan.

Excellent tour and experience - Ivan was an excellent tutor and fun guide. The experience is 100% worth while exploring the lakes and the local wildlife, including Cormorants and Eagles - did you know you can scare seagulls away by flapping your arms like a big eagle? I didn’t either, until today. Hvala Ivan!

Excellent! - We had a great time with Ivan. The lakes are beautiful. We were able to swim in transparent and warm water. Small fruit tasting break in a little corner of paradise at the top. We highly recommend this tour.

Fantastic paddle boarding experience on Baćina Lakes - We were a group of 10 including 6 children between 9 and 12 years of age, all of us first timers and many of us nervous about trying paddle boarding for the first time!
Ivan was a fantastic coach! He gave us a starting briefing, got us started after an initial briefing. The lake was marvellously calm and all of us felt comfortable enough to give it a go within the first 30 mins or so. After a break, we were all feeling far more confident and keen to give it a proper go.
Ivan was wonderful throughout, gave us many little tips and we all left very happy and keen to practice our newly acquired paddle boarding skills.
The fresh watermelon and fruit in the end was the cherry on the cake!

SUP around the lakes/enjoying the nature - We decided spontaneously to write Ivan the evening before the tour and he replied pretty fast, so we met him the next morning and started an amazing tour with him (2 people). We learned the basics how to paddle and went all around the lakes, doing some stops to swim, rest, learn about the nature/surroundings and to enjoy some seasonal fruits. The tour lasted around 3 hours and we are very happy that we decided to do it. If you have the time, you should definitely stop by.
BTW, he did amazing pictures and videos of us (this was the plus of the tour!!)

Review of the Bacina lakes - The tour of the lakes was absolutely wonderful! Our guide was well-informed, friendly and funny. It was such an incredible experience to paddle on these stunning lakes and I would definitely recommend it to anyone passing by.

Amazing family activity - Amazing family activity. Such a beautiful area and a great way to experience it. The perfect stop-over activity for families travelling along the coastal road. Ivan was an excellent guide who made everyone feel relaxed and confident in their SUP skills.

A paddleboard tour of the beautiful Bacina Lakes - The whole tour was a wonderful experience. The tuition, the scenery and the company. We paddled to 3 different sections of the lakes, stopped for a swim and refreshments before heading back.
Ivan gave us historical facts and bits of local knowledge as well as information about the natural habitat.
It was peaceful- the only sound being bird song.
I would highly recommend this tour to competent paddlers and beginners.
