Amazing Immersive Experience - Joselino was super knowledgeable, personable, and incredibly patient with our little group. He answered all our questions. He went out of his way to accommodate our every request like multiple photo sessions, and translated museum plaques/signs etc. There is a nominal fee to go to the museum attached to the church, but it’s definitely worth it. Unfortunately due to a recent flooding we were not able to see the cave paintings and because of this the department of archaeology can sometimes deem the cave paintings unsafe to access. Tip: Make sure to ask a lot of questions.

A trip worth taking! - It was an excellent trip with a very nice clean and cool van. It was a small group and a great destiny. The tour guide had a great narrative. Not too much, not too little information. And last but not least, wonderful food!

Highly recommend! Don’t miss it. - Damian was wonderful - excellent English and very knowledgeable about the history, culture, flora, fauna. We go so much more out of this excursion than we would have if we went alone. My teenagers told me later they had expected it to be boring but were really engaged with what Damian told us, and were interested in the tour throughout. Van was very comfortable. Authentic local meal in the town’s Palapa was delicious and enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour!!! Don’t miss it. This tour company (Wild Loreto) also took care of our airport transportation and has other tours available - I highly recommend them.

A historic gem ! - Beautiful historic mission church. The paintings encased in gold leaf frames are incredible. The desert mountain setting …so remote…so beautiful in a stark way.

Worth A Visit - On Jan. 24, 2024 my wife and I visited the Misión San Francisco Javier near Loreto in Baja California Sur. We were picked up at 9am by “Francisco”, a friendly, knowledgeable guide. We had a small group: my wife and I, plus a couple from Canada. The van was impeccably clean and quiet. The drive up into the mountains was beautiful. Francisco stopped a couple times to show us some interesting plant life, such as a huge fig tree growing in the side of a hill. We also had a special treat—walking back from the fig tree, a herd of about 20 goats trotted by followed by a goat herder. When we arrived at the Mission, Francisco gave us an interesting tour, highlighting the architecture and history of the building. We also saw a small orchard where the first olive trees of America were planted. After the tour we had a delicious lunch with a choice of beef or chicken burritos, or an omelette. The ride home went quickly as we descended the mountain back to Loreto. Francisco is a wonderful guide and a safe driver. It was a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

The mission was great, nothing else was - The short time at the mission was the best part of the tour. We were coming from a cruise ship, and four members of our party of six couldn’t get off the ship for an hour after we did. That’s not the fault of the tour, but it created a bad feeling from the start. Our guide provided narration about the flora, fauna, and geology on the hour drive to San Javier. On arrival, we went to the restaurant for a mediocre lunch. We waited more than thirty minutes for our food. One tour bus arrived after us and was served before us. On our short walk to the mission, our guide left us to go talk to a friend that he spotted. Upon his return, he gave us a short tour of the mission. The small mission was open, so we paid a dollar to enter. The artifacts were in terrible condition. Then we drove the hour back to the port with no narration. I’m glad we got to see the mission which is pretty much in original condition from the seventeenth century. The new Toyota van that we were in was very nice.
