Bilbao has a vibrant, avant-garde feel to it… You’ll see for yourself straight away that it exudes modernity. From its origins as an industrial hub, it has evolved into an international reference point for urban design and has set the standard as a model of urban regeneration. If we had to stand out one regeneration that has secured Bilbao’s place on the international stage that would have to be the Guggenheim. It can’t be denied that since its construction it has become a great highlight.

In this tour you will also visit Bilbao’s Casco Viejo with a stop for some pintxos.

Important: To access Gaztelugatxe we need tickets. So last-minute bookings will depend on availability to access Gaztelugatxe! Other appealing options will be offered in the case.

Don’t miss this! - Incredible, once in a lifetime trip. We only had one day to experience the the Basque area and our guide Martin made the most of it. The scenery, the history, the view points crowned by a visit to Bilbao, old and new, and the visit to the amazing Guggenheim museum was truly wonderful. We traveled at our own pace and it was delightful. We tried to walk to the shrine of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe but were to old and it was too hot and we only made it to the last viewpoint. But it was worth the try.

Amazing and scenic tour with a wonderful guide - I did a last minute booking and the tour operator was able to accommodate my request. Our tour guide Martin speaks very good English so me and my friend had a lively conversation with him. He showed us hidden gems of Gaztelugatxe, Bermeo and surrounding areas. The drive was so beautiful. Martin also recommended a great restaurant in Bermeo where we ate delicious pintxos for lunch and he also added extra stop for us at an overlook where we enjoyed coffee and dessert. Martin is very proud of the Basque Country and it showed when he told us stories and related historical events. So happy with this tour!!!

Bilbao Visit - Our guide was articulate and very knowledgeable about Bilbao. Unfortunately, we did not visit all of the sites noted in the tour description. We lost some time because the guide was not familiar with picking up guests at the cruise ship. It was suggested, and we agreed, that we skip the first stop because of the steepness. We agreed but reflecting back wish we had insisted on going. If we had taken the shuttle from the ship and done a walking tour of Bilbao and the gone to the Guggenheim we would have spent far less money than we did for this particular tour. I do recommend the tour if you’re visiting all the sites noted and if you’re not arriving by cruise ship.

Trip was cancelled on us at last minute - The night before our scheduled trip we were sent an email cancelling our tour apparently due to incorrect pricing on the tripadvisor website. No option was given to accept a different price. The cancellation was fully refunded in a couple of days but resulted in a loss of over $50 Canadian by time exchange rates were factored in on our credit card.
