Passing Baku’s Little Venice, complete with gondolas, we use the Funicular to zip up to Highland Park for breath-taking views across Baku Bay encompassing National Flag Square and Crystal Hall far below while getting an unusual series of close-up views of the legendary Flame towers – a trio of skyscrapers that really do appear to burn thanks to an extraordinary light show.
