Additional Information

Explore the enchanting Lahij village, a site safeguarded by UNESCO for being a premier center of craftsmanship and commerce in the Caucasus region. Settlement in this area traces back to the 3rd and 4th centuries, boasting ancient water and sewage systems still in use after a millennium. Wander the stone-paved lanes for hours, taking in the array of handmade goods produced by local crafters who continue age-old methods of manipulating non-ferrous metals like copper and bronze. Lahij artisans’ exquisite copper creations were showcased at the 1873 World Exhibition in Vienna. Our excursion will also include a visit to the Zarnava suspension bridge in the Ismailli region, known for its idyllic landscapes, top-tier honey, dairy, and wine. Following our journey through Lahij, we’ll enjoy an outdoor feast featuring assorted kebabs (morsels of lamb, kofte, chicken, and roasted veggies), crisp salads, and authentic homemade wine.
